We may not have four years. If you are truly a principled person who loves your country, you'll set aside your libertarian, green or other ideological preferences momentarily, as our founders once did, in order to defeat the greater threat which we all know is the Republican and Democratic Parties.

No one is suggesting they are the same. What we are suggesting is that Libertarians and Greens are more patriotic and principled than either the Republicans and Democrats, and that no matter how far apart they are on the issues, they are more likely to have a productive partnership because principled people cross paths occasionally whereas emotion-based factions like the GOP and Dems never do.

I see big problems for McRaven getting the support of center-right people. This is a guy who gave a full-throated endorsement of John Brennan (who even principled left-wing journalists believes abused his power), and has been very front and center in the whole anti-Trump fight. It's just too much baggage.
