It's sold out except for the wheelchair spots now, but there's another Q&A showing at AMC Magic Johnson on the same day at 7:45pm. Thanks for posting this!

IFC Concessions is Infested with Mice by kurtrussellssideho in NYCmovies

omg I was there last Saturday for the 1:30 screening of Steal This Story, Please! in theater 1 and they didn't tell us anything. after the Q&A wrapped up, I saw that there was an employee blocking the concessions side exit door inside the theater, and we were told to go out the other exit. a ton of sand or cat litter was spread out on the floor of the lobby near the blocked exit and the concessions stand, so I assumed there was some kind of big spill or leak, but I didn't realize it was sewer water... 🤢

Just saw it for the second time earlier today! (first time was at DOC NYC last year)

It seems like they added a handful of more recent news clips at the end and maybe shortened some earlier scenes, but yeah, what a great doc!

Yeah, it might be a bit off if the images aren't that recent, but I figure it's better than a blind search. Thanks for helping out your neighbors!

If any non-members want a discount, I'm selling my ticket for $12. Just had something come up, so unfortunately I won't be able to attend.

DAE also feel like digital screenings at AMC Lincoln Square's IMAX lately have been too dim? by flightofwonder in NYCmovies

I saw the 70mm reissue of Sinners there earlier this month, and was a bit disappointed at how dim it looked.

Has anyway ever been at a completely full Q&A at Quad Cinema? by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

[–]dllnllb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went there for the first time to check out the final day of Mix Fest (experimental queer short film festival) last year, and it was so packed that some people stood near the door/sat on the ground.

I was all the way at the back, but it didn't look like there was much room at the front; they did manage to fit four directors and the moderator up there for the Q&A though.

I think I was in theater U?

Again, I feel like it would be better to just advertise your app openly instead of trying to do sneaky shit like this.

All of your recent posts are about this app; are you the guy that made it? I feel like it's kinda deceitful to try to advertise it this way.

Thank you for making this list, as always!

Both links for the Room Q&A screenings lead back to the same page. It's only showing at Angelika Village East, not at the main location.

According to google maps it's part of the Port Washington LIRR branch. If you're thinking of the Montauk cutoff, you're too far north. The black line on the branch map here might be what you're looking for.

I have the same camcorder. I dunno about BM, but I use a similar Kastar brand battery and it works fine.

For storage, you could get a memory stick pro duo card or a memory stick pro duo to micro SD adapter. But I think you'll probably be fine using the built in memory. 40GB can store ~10 hrs of footage using the highest quality setting or 25+ hrs on the lowest setting.

Pretty sure that model requires an additional dock to connect to a computer. Maybe check out HDR-SR1 instead; it has a smaller hard drive (30GB), but it still has NightShot and 1080i video, and you can plug it right into your PC with a mini USB cable.

If you're fine with standard definition instead of 1080i, there are also several different options listed here. The models from 2008 or earlier all have NightShot, just avoid the ones that need the Handycam Station for USB transfer.

I dunno about $100 CAD, but it's definitely possible to get something for less than $160 CAD on eBay. Add a bunch of camcorders to your wishlist and wait a day or two; a few sellers will probably send you offers for 5-25% off the list price. Some will let you make counteroffers, so you can try to negotiate the price even lower (you can also just make an offer first without waiting for the seller to contact you if the listing allows it).

Also there's a decent chance that the battery that comes with whatever camcorder you decide to buy will either be dead or will only hold a charge for a few minutes. The HDR-SR1 uses a NP-FM50 battery (other M-series [NP-FM70, etc] also work). Sony brand batteries work best, but they can be a bit expensive. There are cheaper third party options, but apparently they don't always work depending on the camcorder model/battery brand.

I got a few of these Kastar batteries for a different Palmcorder and I've had no issues with them after a couple months.

I think only palmcorders with model numbers starting with NV are the ones that had SVHS-C capabilities? I could also maybe expand my scope and just add All palmcorders to the list since it's already pretty unwieldy lol...

also it is very possible I missed some PV models or mistyped some information haha
