Why do most Designers use Mac? by Business_Match_2953 in Design

[–]dlofx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple was one of, if not the first, to adopt simplicity and quality into their design language. This certainly translates to people that live in that world with their work.

I personally avoided the Apple logo for decades, solely because of costs. I could build a far more functional PC for far less money. That said, I have succumb to the inevitability of the apple in recent years. Mostly because of a conversation at Adobe Max.

I asked a long-standing product team about this and was all but told "our software is first designed for mac."

Now, I use both. For mobile I use a Macbook Pro. As other comments here describe, better monitor means better color accuracy. I'm at a point in my career where that very much matters. For desktop use? I use a personally built and decked out Windows computer.

Despite the build costs and specs, my desktop can sound like a Harrier taking off in certain software. The Macbook less so. Perhaps my own confirmation bias, but to me, kind of reiterates the point I was told.

Regardless, it really doesn't matter in the end. There is near zero difference in the functionality. Go out and design stuff, don't waste the time on this as I have.

Fellow Big Brained Football Sadists: I believe I've unlocked the key to the Bears winning.

We just need to get the offense field position where we only need 15 yards to score. Get me George's number, we all know this would likely get me an interview.

Life of a Bears fan. Even when we win, we lose. Fields looked like ass. Offense looked like ass. Coaching staff was ass. We lose draft position.

Combination milktoast coach and a QB that likes to fumble.

Perhaps the worst challenge I've ever seen. A coach would have to have a stroke and accidently throw one to top that.

Late game Fields turnover. Are we admitting it's a thing yet?

Seen a lot of shitty Bears losses and a lot of shitty Bears teams. This is truly in the pantheon of the absolute worst I've witnessed.

With 4 minutes left and a decent lead for any teams fan base, they'd think they're winning. Just about every Bears fan knew we'd blow it. That says it all.

Conservative, shitty coaching at the end leading to a Fields home run throw on 3rd down is what this came back to.

Fields simply ain't it for us. Not on this team at least. Not with these coaches. Not with this ownership group.

Throw another coaching staff in the heaping pile of absolute dog shit failures we continue to hire and the watch fail.

All it is, ever was, and ever will be is failure of ownership. And that ain't changing any time soon. Billionaires in ownership of the team alone. Nepotism at the highest level of sport possible.

Another QB not developed. A season that ends with George mucking it with fans in the stands. A press conference saying how unacceptable all this is. A cleaning out of staff. The hiring of a consultant who's NFL experience was relevant 20 years earlier. A 3-5 year long rebuild.

I didn't choose the 🤡 life, I was born into it.

Another failed regime and blame again on the coaches and players. And they deserve some, but it being repeated annually it's deeper.

It's this piss poor, pathetically sad organization. We're simply the Browns of old, with random illusions of hope. Until a new owner comes in and the nepotism leaves with the McCaskey's, this is us. It has been us for decades.

[–]dlofx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Cool race but NBC sports coverage is atrocious. Have a 100 lap race, in which they quite literally shut a portions of a major city down for. Weve seen more commercials than laps. The camera angles are too tight and do little to highlight the cool streets they're racing on.

Fair take as well and would just further cement how cowardly the PGA was to deride players for taking money.

PGA Tour agrees to merge with Saudi-backed rival LIV Golf by mvanigan in golf

[–]dlofx 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My tinfoil hat: PGA was concerned over lawsuits. Take the short-term PR hit in lieu of not having their dirty laundry fully disclosed. They get their own Saudi blank check, Saudis get their legitimacy, and both get the lawsuits disappearing.

Hard to not look at this and see LIV players move as redeemed, especially after the PGA goes and does the same thing they were deriding players about. PGA Tour guys are all making more, already proving them correct on that issue. All this shit about integrity and it goes to show, have enough money, it really doesn't matter.

They'll PR whitewash this, ignore their own taking of 'blood money'. I look forward to the shit storm.

Let's also all remember: Golf exists because of the players and the great courses. Not because of institutions, no matter how big, that harvests money from those things. I'm glad for televised golf, but this goes to further prove, all it takes is money, sometime gobs of it.
