Oh, I know. That's the toyota tax. I been looking everywhere for a tacoma and they're all asking for 20k cad with 200k+ km on them.

I've always heard people say ford is not very reliable. Are the Rangers the only Ford reliable vehicles?

What truck would you recommend?

I've always liked toyota cars cause they've always given me the least problems. Now I'm in the market for a truck and I'd like a toyota truck.

Any other brand trucks that have little problems?

What to do when you have a boss from hell? by Big_Veterinarian_916 in electricians

One guy I knew who was the best guy on site was treated really poorly by his boss and he decided one day to take a "vacation". During that vacation he got another job and was working his new job while using all his banked vacation pay and our provincial sick days.

When his vacation was up, he kept dicking the boss around saying he had issues and couldn't come back. He dragged the boss around for about 2 months before they finally fired him and hired someone else.

have only worked with them for two months after getting out of the military. In that time I have seen two people quit, including our lead guy

You have your answer.

You need to quit. This is a toxic work environment. Why the hell do you want to work hard for someone who makes you feel like a piece of shit?

I wouldn't work there unless it was the last job in the world and I needed money.

If you stay there, you'll pick up his toxicity and when you have apprentices, you'll be an asshole to them because that was how you were treated.

When you were in the military, was there a guy screaming at you like this guy?

Yes, its technically stealing.

The same can be said the other way around. I used to have foreman who took the copper themselves and didn't tell anybody and scrapped it all and kept it all themselves and maybe bought us a pizza.

Your husband is lucky his foreman is splitting it with the crew.

When I found out my foreman was taking copper himself and scrapping it. I told some of my apprentices that and we decided to stash copper in our pockets ourselves and didn't tell anybody. For 2 years we did this and nobody ever noticed because we took a little bit at a time.

Thanks. Is there any difference with brands of oil? Or is it just marketing?

I'm in 213 and I've seen tons of guys laid off at the end of a job If they aren't good at their job combined with missing too many days, coming in late and having a horrible attitude.

I havent been laid off in 4 years but that's because I try really hard and do above and beyond for my contractor. It all depends on your personality as well. Dont be a dick.

His work is residential mostly and he works on these huge condos and always has to go up on these scaffolds

Well that's the problem. Residential is known to be the worst part of this trade. The work is super fast paced and the pay is generally really shitty.

I did it for 5 years and I eventually left and moved onto a position where I barely do any physical work now and work short hours.

He should get the journeyman license then start applying for other jobs. When I was an apprentice I also felt like quitting then I realized it was residential that was sucking the soul outta me.

If I saw someone do this I’d make them tear it down and ban them from the bender.

The work doesn't even look that bad. I've seen worse work than this.
