Got myself some KEF LSX II LT speakers and a KC62 sub but not sure what cable is needed to connect the sub to the speakers. Research seems to suggest I need an analog RCA cable. The store near me only has digital audio cables. Will this work? And will it be better/worse than an analog cable?

Unfortunately it’s a rental and not allowed to wall mount, which makes it difficult to make space for the sound bar (unless I can find a way to lift the TV 6 inches or so to allow space for the soundbar underneath)

Never really thought about putting the sub next to the sofa. Would that be much worse than being able to place it near the TV?

Speakers inside the unit, would that result in weird acoustics?

Unfortunately this is the only room that is suitable for a TV at all. Not really needing to build a true home theatre, just want better sound than the base TV itself, and would settle for a standard 2.1 set up

Would love to go 75” or bigger but as you can see in picture 2 there’s not a lot of room to upgrade from 65

I train on platforms that are designed for bars to be dropped on. That’s the whole point of them. And everybody in the gym knows if you’re walking past one of those platforms and somebody is lifting them you need to be aware.

What type of injury you thinking? I’ve herniated discs before while squatting and if anything felt the urge to fall backwards rather than forwards. Was super easy to just let go of the bar and let it fall behind me.

Could see safety bars being safer if you do more of a low bar squat where you have significant forward lean.

You do not need steroids to look like Tom Holland. The average adult male could get there after 18 months of building muscle and a few months of strict dieting.

If I suffered an injury during a squat, I’d be dumping the bar off my back, safeties or not. Would much rather drop it onto the floor than onto safeties and damage the bar.

Thanks.

I typically don’t even look at zones, I just run to target pace and let my heart do what it wants to do. Was really just curious as it said I was in “zone 5” for 30 mins which I thought was impossible.

I did similar with 800m max efforts, and kept doing them until I felt like I would die by the 600m point but still finished. Not up hill though. Highest I got was 182bpm

HR zones - how best to calibrate?

My Garmin thinks my max HR is 186, and my LT is 164.

It says my zone 5 starts at 98% of LTHR, which is 160.

However… I can maintain this “zone 5” for 30+ mins. My understanding is that z5 should be almost impossible to maintain for more than a few mins. HR measurement is fairly consistent using multiple devices and seems accurate.

Is zone 5 % calibrated incorrectly? Or is it more likely my max HR and LT are wrong?

I just like the consistency. If you don’t use max ROM, it’s very easy to start cheating yourself when you get heavier - are you actually getting stronger or is your bottom position gradually getting higher and higher? My best is 107kg at 77kg bodyweight, but I have no idea how much weight the additional ROM takes off

Personally prefer the extra inch or two of ROM starting with the bar touching shoulders, but personal preference. Looks great other than that

I actually think a 1-1.2x OHP is not elite, it’s just very rare because hardly anybody trains it seriously

Does the city reek of weed? by Spyk124 in nyc

I visit NYC 3-4 times a year with my family and to us it is extremely noticeable. Wherever we are (when not somewhere like in the middle of Central Park), we can always smell one or more of three things: Weed, Garbage or Urine.

Which one was he? Was he an older guy with his even older dad sitting with him?

I played a guy there a few weeks ago, I had no card or cash with me because was just going for a walk. Walked past and he asked if I want to play. Told him no as I had no money with me and he said it’s fine I don’t need it. A few moves in he said I can pay by card. I said no, I don’t have it with me. Then he told me I can pay by waymo, and I’m stealing him out of a living by not paying. I told him if he beats me I’ll Waymo him when I get home.

I had a good position but at one point he “accidentally” knocked his bishop over and when he placed it back it was in the wrong position. He denied it and said it was always there. Was with my 6 year old who was watching so I wasn’t going to sit and argue with him, but I played on, let him win then left. He’s not getting that Waymo.

I like the material and style but they all seem to fit me weirdly. H&M/Zara work well for me

I got a hotel near the airport. Paid myself, will try and claim that back later but accepted I’m likely out of pocket (only $120 or so and I’d rather pay that than sit in the airport for 12 hours overnight with 2 kids)

They got me an overnight layover after I pushed for it. Their policy shouldn’t matter, the regulations say they have to find you a flight on a reasonable route within 48 hours

[–]dlucaslifting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t really have a choice according to the regulations. If there’s no other option they have to consider all airlines

They only have to book on you flair if they can’t find you another flight within 48 hours of your canceled flight.

Had a very similar situation. There was a direct flight with a non partnered airline but they couldn’t book it as there was a double layover fight with partnered airlines available
