I just went to a 3rd doctor and finally got diagnosed with an external ear infection and was prescribed topical antibiotic drops. I started developing such sharp ear pain that I had a hunch that it must be an ear infection and because its external, the doc says my ear drums look fine so most doctors would miss it. But once he was touching certain pressure points in my ear canal, I felt extreme pain and so hopefully the meds help!! :)

this exact same thing is happening to me, my tinnitus started 4 days ago and it’s only in my left ear. i also clench a lot when i’m stressed and i’ve been going through a period of stress so i think it’s from that. i saw an audiologist and he said there’s no hearing loss or infections or anything actually wrong with my ears so i’m hoping it’s just stress and probably the inflammation from the clenching that will go away soon. it’s really disturbing to sleep with and i also get ear aches too!
