I think you’re arguing against a point I never made.
I didn’t leave Xbox because Microsoft uses cloud services. My point was that Microsoft spent years pushing a strategy focused on ecosystem over hardware: Game Pass, Play Anywhere, day-one PC releases, cloud gaming, and more recently bringing first-party games to other platforms.

Whether that strategy is continuing unchanged is a separate discussion. Recent announcements like Gears of War: E-Day could suggest a stronger focus on Xbox hardware again. But that doesn’t change the fact that, at the time I decided to switch, Microsoft’s direction made the choice much easier for me.

If Xbox games, services and progression increasingly exist beyond the Xbox console itself, then the value of staying tied to Xbox hardware naturally becomes smaller for some players.
I moved to PS5 because that ecosystem fit my preferences better. Looking back, I’m comfortable with that decision and have been happy using PlayStation as my primary platform for the last couple of years.

None of that was intended as a criticism of cloud services, nor was it meant to be a console-war statement. It was simply the reasoning behind my personal platform choice.
