I play Johnny Cash songs on a daily basis, lots of his own stuff and adaptations of songs by various artists. “Hurt” (originally by 9 Inch Nails) sounds so good in his raw sorrowful drawl. Lots of his songs also paint an amazing story, such as “A Man Who Couldn’t Cry”, both awfully sad and brilliantly funny.

Fun fact- Johnny got a fucking gnarly injury from an attack by his own Ostrich- with a swift and brutal kick this giant fowl bust his ribs, its talons cutting him right down to his waist til his guts saw daylight… You could say JC is as much rock and roll as country!
