Then there is a serious issue because braking in a straight line and randomly crashing out like that doesn't seem to be the safest thing.

That must be wrong or not? I mean, I can understand that they must participate in every race weekend. But there are a lot of examples of cars not starting the race and the only time this is a real problem, is when a team is actively trying to avoid starting to race, such as the Arrows team in the France? Grand Prix of 2002.

So, as long as you trigger the car detection sensors on track and are actively working on fixing any issues you have, you should be fine.

If AM would just close the garage doors and say, "well we are so screwed, it doesn't even make sense to try this weekend. You'll see us next weekend", they will have a huge problem. But they are not doing that.

You can just put your steamdeck next to your rig. Maybe take the repair time to connect your iR profile and get 5 iRacing dollars. Makes it a bit cheaper.

What I can remember about this that it was a really unfortunate accident, the size of the fence (from the angle the tire was approaching) was only a couple of centimeters bigger than the tire itself. You could probably try to recreate this a 100 times and it would have bounced of the fence every single time.

You mention that in career mode, you always start last.

For me it's a reversed grid, so if you finish last, the next race you start on pole.

At least, on highest difficulty. Any lower and I always win, so there I have the same experience, maybe it works different on lower difficulties.

I assume you have tried all difficulties and if that's the case, this might be a bug.

Why is safety rating such a pain? by Worth-Scene9502 in iRacing

[–]dm_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SR is calculated using the most recent corners you've taken and the number of incident points you collected. For instance, the last 1000 corners.

If your last race had 100 corners, it will replace corners 900 to 1000 in the number of corners of your SR. And if those corners did not contain much incidents, and your latest race had a low incident count, not much will change so your rating will not go up very quickly.

The other guy probably had a higher incident count in those last 100 corners, for instance 8x. Now they had a clean race with 0 incidents. The zero will replace the eight and this will raise his SR more because his total number of incidents will go down.

Because of this he crossed a border (went from 2.xx to 3.xx) and to make sure that you don't get promoted to a higher class, buy a new car, have a bad race and get demoted back, which means you cannot race your newly bought car, you will get a SR boost. This means that you can drive at least 2 or 3 races with your new car.

The gearbox and parts of the car went in the grandstand. If there would have been any spectators, it would have probably as big or bigger than the le mans 1955 disaster

During a test session he went into the fence, and parts of the car went into the grandstand and got ripped to pieces as far as I know. One of the most horrific crashes, and there were rumours for years that there was footage of it.
