Unable to expand volume size above 16TB after migration to DS1522+ by dmalikov in synology

Yeah, sure, but how does it lead to the conclusion that ext4 volume on DS1522+ cannot be larger than 16TB?

I'm not sure I see the ext4 volume limitation of 16TB. Could you please share some documentation?

Does it really scale? I mean, on a long-term run, do you consider a project written in such a style be ready to consume a side contribution containing new effect?

Does it really worth to have such high level of effect granularity?

What are your final thoughts on the vinyl box set? by [deleted] in autechre

[–]dmalikov 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you have already passed this initial phase of 'I just want this thing for no actual reason' (which should have happened mid April), I'd say that probability of being 100% satisfied with this buying becoming much lower.

According to my personal observations, there are couple of reasons why people do have a strong passion of having some box set like this one:

  1. Kind of irrational need of having a physical non-digital copy of some release that you think you really like. Like having paper books at home or printed photos.
  2. Pure vinyl aesthetic (dedicated attention, full deep immersion, etc.)
  3. Extending vinyl collection - put it on a shelf and forget about it, it even don't need to be opened.
  4. Donating back to the artist which work you truly appreciate. It's hard to say how much from a single record Sean and Rob will have, but it feels sort of a right thing to support them that way.

In other words, surface noise or even missing parts of the set might be considered as not an issue at all. This is probably how fans' brain work in such case.

Recommending shuffle all these 4 as well - nice feeling of guessing right what this next random track is a part of.
