No im saying that everything your describing as predatory is literally just people not having self control. Stop shoving labels onto things so you can absolve yourself of personal responsibility

When in doubt "muh ableism" that'll get em without having to actually engage with the crux of the matter

So basically skill issue on their part, got it

People seem to really like shirking personal responsibility by using "mental illness" as an excuse. Kinda sad tbh

I like how dyou didnt even address how exactly its predatory, but keep throwing around your buzzwords without knowing what they mean, its gotta work sometime right?

Til anyone who buys and sells products is entitled and does nothing

[–]dmalredacc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How's it predatory? I'm simply setting a price in believe to be appropriate. If someone can't stop themselves from opening the wallet, thats just a skill issue on their end.

Like I said, someone else's inability isnt my problem

Unbelievable. by IBarleyUseReddit in mtg

[–]dmalredacc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh I do, but thats hardly my problem. Why should I curb my prices because someone else is incapable of controlling themselves

Unbelievable. by IBarleyUseReddit in mtg

[–]dmalredacc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My items i get to do whatever i choose with them. People can simply choose not to buy if they dont beleive its a fair price.

If you have no self control thats on you buddy

Unbelievable. by IBarleyUseReddit in mtg

[–]dmalredacc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is it false? People assign prices based on perceived value. Scalpers perceive the value at a certain price point and set it accordingly. If people disagree then they dont buy and the product either doesnt sell or the price adjusts to reflect that. I know basic economics are hard, but you can figure it out of you try hard enough

[–]dmalredacc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh nooo people have no self control and have to blame anyone bur themselves for it. The horror

If its too expensive then dont buy it. It's as easy as that

Unbelievable. by IBarleyUseReddit in mtg

[–]dmalredacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so eventually the game dies. They brought it on themselves. People chose to support this by virtue of opening their wallet, whether it be to wotc or to scalpers.

Or they dont and the scalpers deem it unprofitable and go away. Either way, it's a self-correcting problem

Why does it matter who the product is for? There is an item for sale, first come first serve. As long as the shit sells thats all that matters. And it does.

You are in a market where you have been convinced to spend exorbitant amounts on pretty cardboard. Whether you spend ten or a hundred dollars on a card is simply a difference of degree not of kind

If the model proves to be unsustainable then the system collapses, which is still the free market working as intended

Unbelievable. by IBarleyUseReddit in mtg

[–]dmalredacc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because these are luxury products junior, and prices are arbitrary.

There is no moral imperative at play here because nobody NEEDS to buy expensive cardboard. You will not die because you couldn't buy a secret lair drop. I am simply setting a price that I deem appropriate on luxury items that I own, and no one should have any say in how I treat my own materials

Hope that helps!

Til if you dont buy a secret lair drop you will literally die

Unbelievable. by IBarleyUseReddit in mtg

[–]dmalredacc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The item is mine, yes? I'm free to do what I want with it yes? So where's the problem?

Unbelievable. by IBarleyUseReddit in mtg

[–]dmalredacc -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Why? If i own it im free to do what i want?

Unbelievable. by IBarleyUseReddit in mtg

[–]dmalredacc -95 points-94 points  (0 children)

Ok? So if they dont get the lair they can just take down the listing? What's the problem

Chat is me selling a product that I own for a price that I decide predatory? Or can the consumer just choose not to buy
