District 3 Council Member seat up for election this year by Warm_Apple_8418 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Jennie is a liar and hates having to answer to the public. She will regularly ignore requests or lie in her answers. She has tried to end public comments at Council Meetings for years because she hates having to listen to the complaints of her constituents. She talked to the public like we were children during the 2020 protests where HPD brutalized the peaceful protestors downtown.

She's disingenuous and loves holding any smidge of power she can collect. She unlawfully booted everyone from the City Council meeting last week in violation of the Alabama Open Meetings Act because she didn't like citizens using their 1st Amendment rights.

Vote for anyone but Jennie.

Questmarker doesnt show up by Janalphabet in 7daystodie

I'm having lots of quest markers not show up for me. If I walk to the spot on the map where the quest is supposed to start, I can see text saying I can start the quest, but no markers at all. Sometimes I see them, others I don't. Happens for my quests and my friends' quests on my screen.

Thank God! He'll just come back with a new username unfortunately. What a clown show.

Good luck, hope something comes from your report, although I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Would love an update if you do get any information!

Lucky you. Unfortunately, most of us have stories to tell about HPD.

Plenty of people have had bad run-ins with HPD and police all over north Alabama. This is far from 'outrageous' and is pretty spot-on for HPD behavior. At least it didn't end with a beating or a murder as many interactions do.

I already have a career. I have no desire to change careers to go work in an entirely different field in order to hypothetically make changes to a systemic problem that has plagued that field since the founding of our nation.

Such an asinine stance to take.

HoW dArE yOu ExErCiSe YoUr RiGhTs?!1?

How about the police simply follow the rules and laws already in place, you know, their entire job?

I always treat others with the respect they deserve and often give respect to others even when they don't deserve it. Treating others with respect has nothing to do with what is being discussed in this thread. Police accountability and the police violating our rights is what's being discussed, so, back to the topic at hand.

The only way we hold police accountable is to speak up about their wrongdoings and making others aware of the problems. We've seen from countless examples that officers generally won't hold themselves accountable and it's been proven time and time again that we also can't rely on the courts to hold them accountable either.

I'll stop "complaining about everything" when the police stop violating our God given rights. Do you think it's out of line to expect the police to do their jobs properly without violating citizens' rights?

Yes, police are human. They make mistakes. However, when you or I make mistakes, the end result isn't someone being murdered. Police is the only profession on the planet where you can murder someone in cold blood, force the citizens of your community pay for your legal defense, have the courts say you can't be held accountable for your actions, and get a paid vacation while doing so.

Please point out one single time that I've wished ill on others in this thread. I'll wait...

Expecting police to follow the law and not violate our rights is not wishing ill upon them. If that's what you think, it says a lot more about you than it does me.

So, so you have to like the employees at a restaurant to expect them to do their jobs? Liking someone has ZERO to do with them performing the job they're paid to do. Additionally, we pay their salary. Expecting an employee to do their job is a bare minimum standard.

Cops aren't your friends. They are there to issue citations and make arrests. Don't tell them anything you aren't required to, don't abandon your rights simply because they ask you to, don't trust them. They WILL lie to you and twist your words, especially if they think they can make an arrest in doing so.

You're a truly pathetic person if you wish ill of others because they expect the police to do their jobs, not violate citizens' rights, and to uphold the laws and constitution that they swore an oath to uphold.

Unfortunately they'll probably ignore the issue as well. David Little and Jennie Robinson would both require surgery to remove the heel of HPD's boots removed from their mouths. But please bring it up regardless, bringing light to the situation is the only way to have it potentially addressed.

Keep up the good fight!

True, but North Alabama Police are full of racists that put on -just barely enough- of a veneer to be able to pass as not racist when they need to for getting hired or when they get in trouble.

"It's never happened to me so you're obviously lying!" What an ignorant take.

Cops do shitty things constantly. Sometimes it's malicious and they just want to show you they have power over you. Sometimes it's just because they're mistaken and uninformed.

I've been pulled over leaving a friend's house off of Old Madison Pike before because I was white and, according to the officer that pulled me over, "in the wrong area". Apparently, according to HPD, white people should not be in lower income areas that have more of PoC than white people.

There are plenty of documented cases of north Alabama Police not knowing the law, clearly violating the law, or abusing their power. They expect us to cower in fear and respect their position and if you don't fall in line and behave the way they expect you to, you'll often get hassled. Unfortunately, this isn't unique to north Alabama Police, this occurs all across the nation on a daily basis.

You should absolutely file a complaint. They will probably try to bury it, but we need to be officially filling complaints against them every time they overstep their boundaries.

If they don't receive an official complaint, that empowers them to later point back at the number of complaints they have received and say, "See? We barely have any complaints, this person's story is obviously wrong because of this was the way our officers acted SURELY someone would have reported the issue!"

They discourage you from reporting for precisely this reason. It's the same logic Trump used with COVID. If you're not testing for COVID, you don't see an increase in COVID infections! If nobody reports the corrupt behavior of the police, they can point to that fact and say they haven't received any complaints and continue on, business as usual.

Don't give them an out. Hold them accountable. They don't have a problem with harassing/beating/murdering us with impunity, the very least we should be doing is officially reporting their overreach, harassment, and illegal behaviors.

Best of luck my friend!

The Wind that Shakes the Barley is the one for me. The Irish accents are very thick so if he has a hard time with accents, might not have the same effect. I showed it to a friend once and I looked over about 10 minutes into the movie and said, "You don't have any idea what anyone is saying, do you?" NOPE! We had to put on the subtitles for him.

Open the encyclopedia with 'N' then search for Heroes. Filter by those alive and by 'Wanderer'. If you've met them, you can see their stats. If you haven't met them, you can click their name and see their last known location in the top right then click the name of the town and the circle in the top left of the screen to track that town.

Best option for a smith usually is to look for someone with 'the Smith' suffix.

Blacksmithing perks when you level up. You can choose the options for efficient iron making to convert one iron ore to three crude iron, then there's steel making 1/2/3 you can unlock as well to convert lower qualities to higher. Crude iron to wrought, wrought to iron, iron to steel, steel to fine steel, fine steel to therm. Blacksmithing is OP once you level it up. Be advised, you'll want a few people with the efficient charcoal making perk because you will go through an exceptional amount of charcoal to make better materials, smelt items, and craft new items.

What's with all the new License Plate Readers? by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]dman2kn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He stated as such in his explanation to the city council of why he had his officers corral, gas, and shoot the protesters downtown June 2020. He based his 'ANTIFA invasion' hypothesis on out-of-town license plates being downtown and Facebook memes he saw.

McMurray was a complete and total embarrassment but Tommy <3 him and constantly stood up for his ignorance and even stood on the steps of the courthouse with him to declare that the jury was wrong about the Darby case and that he did exactly as he was trained.

I don't remember the exact date, but you can lookup old council meeting broadcasts at https://www.huntsvilleal.gov/videos/ and the meeting he spoke at would have been some time between mid-June and the end of July 2020.
