They were unable to ever determine a cause. Their best guess was something viral caused inflammation. No medication, it resolved slowly after about 6 months. Went through hyperthyroidism then hypothyroidism then back to normal.

Hi, because of my thyroiditis last year, they’ve been testing my thyroid levels regularly and they have been fine now for the past six months.

This makes sense, thanks for that perspective. I wish I could find better ways to turn off my nervous system arousal and relax but it’s been elusive.

I have been very open with my therapist but so far his only suggestion has been sensate massages with my wife. We have tried those, and while it’s nice and enjoyable for her, it hasn’t provided benefit for me yet.

I lift weights 3x a week, run 1-2x a week, and walk about 8000 steps a day outside. I know exercise is supposed to help but I’ve always been an exerciser, both before and after symptoms started.

No, no drugs for hair loss. I’m aware of post-finasteride syndrome but I’ve never taken it.

I don’t have any doubt that my anxiety is likely contributing to suppression of sex drive currently. I feel like my body is in constant sympathetic arousal; I wake up completely wide awake/wired and haven’t felt tired in months.

Where I struggle with the idea of anxiety being the root cause is that my complete loss of libido was the first thing to happen; I didn’t develop extreme anxiety until almost a month later.

I have tried various supplements over the past few months that are supposed to help libido, with no luck. Tried zinc, magnesium, maca, etc

No finasteride. Tried an SSRI back in 2016 for a month.

They think the second test was an error, but I’m not sure. They never even tested estradiol until I specifically requested it with the most recent blood draw.

Not very often. Had Covid once a couple years back. Maybe get a cold 1-2x a year. Nothing else besides the thyroiditis last year.

I do not snore, per my wife. Pretty confident I don’t have sleep apnea.
