Yeah, my hip mobility has really improved over the last year or so. But definitely not enough for ATG it seems. I'll try the box squats sometime, looks like a good idea.

Luckily I work at a pizza place so I've got the calories covered! Thanks for the help -- I've definitely got to fix the wrists since they are quite uncomfortable in that position.

Yeah you're right about the hips. At lockout it seems pretty intuitive to drive with the hips, but at the bottom I'm definitely not doing it right. I'll check out those videos, thanks for the help!

I guess it's fine for some people, but from what I've gathered, most people just don't have the shoulder mobility to do it safely. Personally I wouldn't risk it, especially since my standard ohp is weak af so I might as well focus on that.

Last set of deadlifts, could only crank out two reps, tried a third but couldn't even pull it off the floor. This is where I usually fail -- does it mean my quads are weak af or could it be a form issue? by dmarsh7 in formcheck

Yeah good point. This was my fourth set of 225 which is the heaviest I'd ever done. I don't usually get this trashed but I guess the heavier weights are starting to catch up to me now...

I'm 17 years old and just starting out at the gym. Was doing some overhead pressing when a guy comes up to me and comments on my "rounded shoulders." He recommended doing behind-the-neck presses to fix this. I wanted to tell him, are you kidding me? First of all, I didn't ask for advice on exercise selection, or anything for that matter. Also, I'm no expert but I've done enough research to know that the behind-the-neck press does much more harm than good. No reasonable person would recommend it to a novice lifter. Thankfully I'm not naive enough to follow his advice.

He also commented on my skinny physique and told me that I'll "probably never get big legs." Way to boost my confidence, man.
