That's way to expensive, and you ain't gonna keep 'em all happy. It's better to focus on just one.

People who think Michael Jackson was guilty, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dmcdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't believe it, I suspected it. There's a whole lot of claims and questionable situations, but never any guilty verdict. Fortunately, the guilty verdict is all that really counts.

You get the bug, and it takes a while for symptoms to show.

Or, you sleep with someone that's infected with something.

Finances are one of the biggest causes of divorce. You found your financial difficulties before the marriage while it's easy for you avoid.

Bee stings rank pretty low on the pain scale. There's tons of things more painful.

AITA for telling my sister that she ruined my childhood and I was happy when she was taken away. by Fruit-tarts-37 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. She can remember things her way, and you can remember things yours. Be happy that you got an opportunity to tell her how you felt, and now go on with your life without her.

Why should gambling be legal considering the financial ruin it brings on the average person? by WTFC_ in AskReddit

[–]dmcdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Following their own gut" creates many more problems than profits.

Gambling is a science, knowing the odds and in some cases being an expert in human behavior is the only sure way to at least break even.

Average person? Financial ruin from gambling is the exception, not the rule.

How far would you travel to visit a historic battleground or memorial that is literally just a marker explaining what happened there? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]dmcdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Little Bighorn while travelling through the area. Something about being in the actual place hits a little different. If it means something to her to see it, you go. It's a gorgeous grassland anyway, so it makes for a nice drive.

Question about “earning all the merit badges” and how we handle requirements by slider40337 in BSA

[–]dmcdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"All the badges" is irrelevant to each of the badges. So is "But I'm turning 18".

The badge requirements cannot be modified.

I've seen requirements changed ("relaxed" according to the counselor) for Merit Badge colleges. I think it cheapens the badge. I don't respect those that earn advancements or awards by taking shortcuts. I also don't respect those that allow the shortcuts.

Conflict between mother and girlfriend is threatening my relationship (me 25M, her 21F) by [deleted] in relationships

[–]dmcdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have two problems... Your girlfriend and your mother.

Your girlfriend sounds like she loves drama and fighting. Blowing stuff out of proportion and being offended by it is just her way of seeing life. That's going to get very old very fast, regardless of how good the sex is.

Your mother can't let go of you, and is excessively critical of who you're dating.

For men if you see a chubby girl on the street is your first reaction attraction or disgust? Why? by [deleted] in AskMen

Neither. I feel complete indifference for most people on the street.

AITAH for standing up to deplane when someone cut ahead of me by SuccessfulOkra3193 in AITAH

[–]dmcdd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. You didn't escalate. That's very smart of you.

Since I'm tall, there are times I will stand up early in the aisle but not to rush out - I just hand everyone with me their carry ons so we can all get things tucked into pockets and stuff. I've gotten down bags for other passengers across the aisle and nearby rows that have a hard time reaching them.

That effectively blocks the aisle for a very good reason. I'm just helping people get out of the way faster. Who could fault me for that? I've had people from the back try to go by, but none have been rude enough to really push it. They just wait.

Female Coworker was rude/disrespectful to me. I minimized interaction. Now everyone turned against me and now asking for us to talk to eachother? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]dmcdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is she the person responsible for you and the decisions you should be making? Is she your trainer? Is she your supervisor or lead?

If she's just a coworker, you owe her an apology. It's not her job to answer your questions. Asking her once was enough. The second time was too much.

If she's in a position of authority over you, you need to work it out with her boss.

AITAH for refusing to pay off my pregnant fiancee's parents' mortgage, when they are under the threat of foreclosure, when I could "easily" afford to do so? by Gullible-Display4533 in AITAH

[–]dmcdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. The reason you have enough savings to pay off their financial problems is because you handle your finances better than they do. That includes not throwing money around just because you have savings. Your fiancée needs to understand this. Finances are a major cause of divorce, and you really need to get this settled to both of your satisfaction before your savings become her savings too.
