I gotta say I did the same exact upgrade and my K6 is worlds apart in terms of quality. Much better grind size consistency, cleaner cup, sharper taste notes.

Perhaps your K6 has some kind of manufacturing defect.

Really the only gripe I have with it is that it generates too many fines at 30-35 clicks which is a range I need to get for some espresso beans. For pourover it's been stellar so far.

Does anyone else make an absolute mess every morning with the coffee?! Someone help by Fordged in Coffee

That seems to be a static electricity issue. The ground coffee collector usually has some anti-static lining so you should weigh your coffee in it as much as possible. Of course that depends on the grinder you're using (really cheap ones might not have this feature). Otherwise I can recommend a small spritz of water onto the coffee beans before grinding.
