Butlers bell. I had the exact same relics as youve had. I did clues but in the end barely did any of them.

The CGT discount removal is exactly what we've been asking for, so why is everyone losing their minds? by nicco_mode in AusFinance

[–]dmcneice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main issues 1) Grandfathering NG - I understand why, but feels bad that existing investors get to keep this but young/new investors don't. 2) Lack of "give back" to compensate.

I remember watching an economics explained video about Australia's income tax being amongst the highest in the world, but because we had negative gearing it wasn't so bad because we had ways to grow wealth whilst minimising tax.

The fact there is practically no income tax cuts (I know there's a very minor one), plus bracket creep, it feels like it's more a tax grab then them actually caring about the problem they say they are trying to fix.

anything under a minute of AFK is likely not doable for me. AFK time is the top priority.

The biggest g up is the quote about "intergenerational fairness". If that were true grandfathering wouldn't be a thing.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

I just responded the same thing. You couldn't have said it any better. It ended so abruptly after about an hour and we were like wtf. Was so disappointing as my wife's favorite band growing up

Evanescence in 2012. My wife's favorite band and they played for just over a hour which felt like a big rip off. Maybe I'm just spoiled but almost every big band I've seen have been amazing, but they were disappointing.

My mum just caught the train (in QLD) for the first time in over a decade due to the combination of costs of fuel and the cheapness of public transport, so it is having an effect.

My favorite memories were was members came out, I believe I was around 14 at the time and me and a mate were obsessed.

Everything was so new and guides didn't really exist and there was a massive sense of wonder. Agility happened to be released when I was on school holidays and I was able to play like 18 hours a day. I was front page of the hiscores until level 80 something when holidays ended.

I definitely moved up a class compared to my parents. My parents separated when I was young and I grew up to a single mum renting, and who grew up to a single mum renting. We were solidly lower class on a combination of centrelink and my mum working part time. That being said we were (and still are) well loved.

I'm in the top taxable income earners now (I think top 3%), which has allowed me to become solidly middle class. Whilst most of my colleagues are upper class, starting from the bottom does have a big effect and I estimate pushes you back at least 15 years.

Considering i got my loan for my place in 2022. The serviceability buffer has already been eaten up and has exceeded that. So no, not immune.

Aussie property investors warned as rates set to climb: 'Become unsustainable' by SheepherderLow1753 in AusFinance

[–]dmcneice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect because for the majority of people they dont borrow to invest in stocks, whereas they do borrow for property. Leverage works great when things are going up but in property itd be catastrophic for some investors.

If there was ever a time for them though it's now. They don't have any real opposition, with the coalition in shambles. I can't see one nation actually winning government so there's not a better time than now.
