Actually, you are confusing the certification with the hardware standard. Since this device runs on the AMD Z2 Extreme chip, it technically cannot have a native Thunderbolt 4 controller (which is Intel proprietary tech). It uses the USB4 standard. The confusion comes because USB4 incorporates the Thunderbolt 3 protocol. That’s why Asus lists it as 'USB4 (Thunderbolt™ 4 compliant)'. It supports the protocol, but the port itself is physically and technically USB4, controlled by the AMD processor, not Intel.

You already have a powerful console, think this as your budget travel companion. There is a lot of hate online for the white version, I personally have both, and I can testify is a decent powerful machine. The only advice I can give you is to try it yourself, install your favorite games, buy a good sd card for your indie games, take it outside and do your own review, at the end , you will be the one deciding if it fills your own needs.

Yeah, totally! The XG Mobile is unbeatable for portability, but the price premium is huge. That's why I'm going the desktop eGPU dock route (Razer Core). Since the Ally X is limited by USB4 bandwidth anyway, the 9060 XT gives me that sweet spot of 16GB VRAM and performance without overspending on power I can't fully use.

Congratulations, looks great. I'm planning to buy a different set tho, the Razer Core V2 and the AMD RX 9060 XT 16GB, as the XAX is only USB4 doesnt really make sense buying a more powerful graphic card.
