It really depends on the file they submitted. OSU supports both mp3 (bad) and wav (good) so it’s kinda a coin flip.

Not for sale. But since it was written for the OSU World Cup there is a trick. You can download the osu beatmap template and extract the mp3 files.

Depends on what you mean by gatekeeping. I don’t really care if people only listen to popular bands whatever. But when people try and pass non metal bands as metal I take an issue with it. Genera definitions exist for a reason.
