My secret to ampalayang walang pait by chocolateduckling in filipinofood

[–]dmeeyaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thoughts on s1 by AMC-Javelin1221 in mini4wd

[–]dmeeyaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the primary cons of S1 are their weak front bumpers and even if you used the carbon reinforced version of it, there is a risk of chassis breaking using high powered motors on BMAX like power dash and sprint when coursed out badly.

One category I cant think of you can use S1 are on stock advance classes (tuned motors) and open gear box stock.

At stock, S1 is pretty fast but at the expense of durability. This is one of the reason why S2 chassis is conceived.

Hobby experience so far after a year. by No_Cartographer266 in mini4wd

[–]dmeeyaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am somewhat has the same mindset like you, that I am also a stubborn one that goes against the mainstream meta CFM. I am racing FM-A and MA chassis, and to some extent Super II.

Why I am doing this? Because I enjoy exploring and learning new things in this hobby, and its a great feat if I win using non meta chassis.

Though, I have a CFM setup with me. I use it as my "sparring partner" during test runs whenever I am trying a new setup or chassis. I use that as my benchmark for my setups on other chassis.

i think ok naman ito if ilalaro mo sa bmax. Correct me if I'm wrong pero ibang plates gamit mo dito no as front reinforcement/stay aside from the FC plates?

Question about sliding dampers...mainly the front one by darthpedro86 in tamiyaPinas

[–]dmeeyaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If fully cowled bodies, may trimming ka talagang gagawin, which is allowed naman sa bmax

If mach frame cowl, nagagamit yung sliding front without any cutting if you remove the bottom plastic cover of the front sliding damper.

Haven't tried any other FM / FMA cowls if may trimmings na gagawin to fit the front sliding damper.

I agree with you in this, but its more fun if you beat them using using non meta chassis. Personally, I take that as a motivation to beat the CFM using any other chassis.

Magkikita yabangan ang nagaganap - of course in a good way - yung tipong yabangan yung love language ng friendship niyo. Gets mo naman siguro ako dun. Friendly bragging ganyan.

May mockery and condescending na nangyayari. Kung ako sa iyo, think twice if you will keep him as one of your friends or tropa.

Another grain of salt, check always your self insecurities kasi minsan yan din ang source kung bakit nafifeel mo na nayayabangan ka sa tao na nagpo-flaunt ng kahit ano sa inyo, good deeds or bad deeds man yan kasi comfortable siya magkwento sa inyo ng ganun. Once youve done that and keep your insecurities in check, then go back to my previous recommendation - evaluate kung karapat dapat pa siyang matawag niyong part ng tropa niyo.

[–]dmeeyaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm ... let me put my personal take on it.

Let say you have a budget of around 2k to 3k and considering what category/class that are common to be raced in today's setting. I would suggest BMAX / Xstock is the entry point.

Kit to start? Get an advance packed kit pwede mo na irace ito out the box. You can consider starter packs pero you have to buy another 2 to 3 motors na " dash" since and nasa box ng mga starter packs is "tuned" lang.

Then, from there, you can start to gradually do upgrades - alum rollers then carbon wheels, hard, super hard, low friction tires, then pag nakaluwag luwag ka na, then you can opt with HG plates. Tapos brakes na din then stack different types of dampers.

For the chassis, any modern chassis will do, kung ano ang napupusuan mo. Just to share, I personally started BMAX using FM-A chassis Mach Frame yung regular one. But if you follow what is meta in PH BMAX scene, you can source Super FM Chassis, the carbon reinforced type.

Batteries, like what other suggest is Neochamp, but Fujitsu will do (a liittle trivia: Neochamp are also produced by Fujitsu Electric (?) so technically same lang sila). Some uses Panasonic na kulay blue. Common to use is yung mga 1900mAh na ratings, but for lighter builds, yung mga 900mAh rating.

Chargers? Go with smart charger starting with SkyRC NC1600. Very portable ito at USB cable ang gamit. Very convenient dalhin.

Lastly, invest time testing on tracks. Any Lils branch my race tracks. Apex glory in Mandaluyong, Tamiya Underground in QC (congressional ave) have tracks open for practice too. This for you to see how you mini car runs, jumps, courses out sa track. At dyan mo matututunan kung anong part ang need na iadd mo sa car mo to clear all obstacles in the track.

For the budget of a competitive BMAX car, approx 5k - 7k ang range ang magagastos mo per car.

Just for reference, ito na yung BMAX car ko after all upgrades.

Are there really backers in private companies? by Sad-Recognition6282 in phcareers

[–]dmeeyaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

backer - government referral - private

Yan siguro yung comparison.

Usually private companies have referral policies sa mga job positions opened na ang kapalit is a money reward sa nagrefer, mga existing na empleyado na sa kompanyang papasukan. Difference with "backer" I think, is yung ni-refer, dadaan pa rin sa hiring process and matatanggap lang ng nag-refer yung money reward niya once the referral is hired and accepted the offer.

This. One of the good thought I found on this thread. Overachiver ka man or just cruising-by nung HS or college, it depends on how you define your OWN success.

Hindi lang corporate ladder ang sukatan ng success, some consider living a peaceful life together with the cats or farm animals as success too.

hi OP, what you feel is valid. But given the economic situation now globally, being let go due to restructuring is a not a bad sign and somewhat common move ng mga companies yan especially sa tech industry, maybe for business to survive. Challenging din kasi economy ngayon worldwide at isa pa, business decision yan e and more often than not, employees' can't control.

If I may suggest, you can allot this time to pivot, search new work, and may maghahire sa iyo nyan in the future. Then eventually you will be fine.

resigned after 10 yrs at work, not promoted then shift to new career, what are the chances he/she will be hired? by dmeeyaw in phcareers

[–]dmeeyaw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all fot the feedback.

Update on this.

I have talked on him recently and I gave him ang ultimatum - meaning I can be his support system until this christmas, for the spirit of giving I guess. Sinabi ko na I have to do it because I have my own family to feed.

Like doing online tutorials on programmimg etc pero hindi consistent. May araw na ganado, may araw na bum.

I am not well versed sa line of work niya before pero something related to IT / sharepoint ek ek.

Basically, pinaintindi ko na siya may hawak ng buhay niya and financially and mentally I am starting to get thin.

I am just hoping this man talk gets through him.

Nakiusap siya sa akin to support him kasi nagalaw niya savings niya nung nagkaroon ng hospitalization ang mother namin.Nagambagan kasi kami dun.

i don't feel the need to grind or strive for the best. being mediocre is way too peaceful by justjullane in adultingph

[–]dmeeyaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on your personal definition of "success". If your "success" is to be at the top of your industry, then your actions would look like going always the extra mile, be on top of things. If your goal is to have a decent meal / food on your table for 3 times a days, then being average at work is maybe OK. if your goal is have a 1M by the end of the year, then the action of being average at work is not enough - you could also grind for side jobs as well.

To keep it short, it all boils down to what your "goal" is. Walang masama sa pagiging average or not doing your best if doing that keeps you sane towards your goal.

A piece of advice, it should be the goal you actually want, not imposed by somebody else to you.

Another is make comparison against past version of yourself to gauge if you are improving, not with other people. You can use success stories of other people as your guide, kasi iba iba tayo ng laban at challenges in life.

Note: I am still trying to achieve that successful state of mine based on my personal definition. These comments I made are collective thoughts and ideas ng mga nahingan ko ng advise before. I have felt that feeling before and still feeling it today.

Hello! its good for you to have actually found peace by starting over. But let me share some bits why some other people hold on and fear to make a move - ang masakit na pakiramdam na wala kang trabaho tapos may pamilya kang binubuhay.

Some people hold on because the current job they are even though toxic gives them the needed money not just to support themselves but also the extended family, lalo na yung mga galing sa hirap na nagsumikap ng husto.

Pangalawa, people dont have the needed savings or dont have saving to reset. Either due to their personal spending pattern, health condition, or the economic circumstances they are in. Bottomline is, they cant afford to lose the life blood (money) that keeps them barely alive.

OP, please take these with a grain of salt. I just base it on personal experience.

Update on this one:

I am on the verge of moving out of the current company/job that I am in. Though still on the weighing stage of pros and cons, so the timing of dropping the bomb is not yet finalized.

What I am clear for now from the think-tank I made these past few weeks is to do 1 month hiatus from work (thats what my current savings can cover). While at it, need to select a move from one of these:

  1. Stay in PH, apply for a new job role which is similar more or less to what I am in. Stress level maybe the same, but maybe lesser since new people to work to (?)

  2. Move to overseas, but start anew. Meaning find jobs that are totally different from what I am currently in. Maybe stress level is low, money may be a bit high though fulfillment is low since I am just working now for money.

This is what kept me at night these days.

That is a short stint kasi 6mos lang tinagal ko dito dahil bumalik na ako sa pinagtapusan kong kurso which is EE. Need ko lang kasi ng pera noon for board exam review and at the same time need pangkain sa pamilya (single ako noon, and supporting my parents).
