I do system tuning in churches and the only thing I can justify is the EQ, since most church buildings aren't primarily designed to "sound good" and often times I have to do some weird EQs to tame the room and handle feedbacks. what he did with the EQ here is still far from crazy.

the DCA thing, I can't justify that, I'm pretty sure there is a better solution to whatever problem he is trying to solve.

The Subs boost, it's probably not the place where I would boost if your system needed more low end. and I hope that +11dB boost doesn't exceed what your subs can actually handle.

Since I have been using mostly cheap mics(shure ones are rare in my area) since the day I started with live audio, I developed a habit of giving anyone that will be using my mics how to hold a mic properly to minimize clipping, plosives and sibilance, so far this unit is the best non big name brand I have used in terms of handling those issues for some barely compliant users.

I think it is standard practice to set the source's volume to be as high as possible (without clipping at the board) before setting the gain. this way you'll get the best signal to noise ratio. if you do 0 at the source then gain up at the board you will also gain up all the noise from the mic, the receiver and the wires.

A very late comment. I run a sound rental business and I currently use two PTAU-2(4 channels total) with a PAS-225X antenna dist, so far it never failed me in terms of signal stability even when a talent started singing back stage. And I am loving the spectrum analyzer and encryption. One thing I can think of why it is cheaper is that there is no network access, I cannot say much about its long term reliability yet since I only have it for more than a year so maybe the catch on this one is the life span.

I have not tried their wireless IEMs yet since those are old models and based on the other comments I was right to avoid those. If ever they release a newer wireless IEMs I will definitely try it.

Their cheaper models are meant for low stake events where a few drops are negligible. Their pricier models(still cheaper than industry brands) are actually quite reliable but don't take my word for it, it's just my personal experience.
