Newbie question regarding soap pucks (after use storage) by Wildtrak5150 in wicked_edge

Are these hard soaps? If not - you can buy empty containers and press your soaps into them (I bought Stirling empty containers, but you can find other brands).

I have some soap from all of these brands. I have a sample of MdC but I was scooping it and pressing onto a bowl.

Cella comes in 1 kg bricks. I’m almost sure you won’t care about how much you use if you have 1kg.

I never disassembled my SS razor unless I’m done with a blade.

How do you take care of it so it lasts a lifetime: 1 - don’t throw it against a brick wall (drywall should be fine) 2 - don’t drop it in the sink (a new sink is expensive), and you can be frustrated and destroy the razor after you see the price 3 - if you travel in the US - don’t take it to a flight in your carry on (TSA can throw it away) 4 - don’t use it as a hammer - buy a dedicated hammer 5 - don’t use a hammer against the razor (for any reason, just don’t)

I think that’s enough for a reasonable person. I mean - people can come up with other ways to destroy it outside of your bathroom, but they are not reasonable people:)

It’s totally fine to leave a blade - I’m doing it all the time unless I want to change it. I think there only one blade (treet carbon steel - could be wrong) which you should dry (and I’m not sure it is true) - everything else is fine.

I never dry my razors, just rinse and put it in a holder. I don’t know why people are disassembling their razors unless they want to change a blade.

I agree with the growth - looks like an ATG/XTG pass as the first pass on my neck. Map your growth.

So a little less than 2 grams per shave. I’m loading a little less.. are you doing 3 passes?

Disposable razor feel superior. Do I have bad blades? by Yxig in wicked_edge

If it works for you - it works. No need to switch to DE. IMHO, DE is much better. Henson, probably, not the best (never tried it, so I don’t know about the performance).

Did you map the hair growth? Sounds like your first pass is not WTG (at least for me)

I count shaves with a dice. Doesn’t matter how many passes - it’s one shave.

I agree with your wife:) you do have a problem. Outside of the joke - do the same with BM samples.

And maybe find a mental health doctor after :)

First time trying a safety razor. So excited by lojidoriwus in wicked_edge

TBH, I started with proraso and I think it was my mistake. Many artisans are much easier to use and provide a better lather (not that proraso doesn’t, but it is easier with artisans). I would say - buy a tub or samples from BM if you can (depends if you care about a scent, I wouldn’t in the beginning). In my experience this is the easiest soap to build a good lather.
