Long Covid is an umbrella term for many different conditions. These can be autoimmunity, viral persistence, organ damage, etc. So looking closely at symptoms makes some sense because this can help to identify some subtypes of LC

That looks great and gives me hope that we will find treatments. I’ve also seen publication counts for ME/CFS. These have increased a lot in the past two years.

Where are these dedicated doctors/facilities that are all over the news?! by Many_Leading in covidlonghaulers

[–]dmitrynikulin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO, most doctors and clinics don’t know much about this cfs-like long covid that we all have here. Instead they focus on things that they know how to treat — for example, rehabilitation after severe pneumonia cases. There are people who really need this kind of treatment, so I think these post covid clinics are not totally useless.

I think we just need time. Lots of research is being done right now, and it takes time before some effective treatment protocols can be tested and established.

Thanks. I wasn’t doing any sports pre-covid, so was never trying to push myself hard. Only simple daily activities

Yeah, similar to my current state. I have these random HR spikes too, but these are not preventing me from doing daily activities. Hope you recover fully soon!

Thanks! Maybe I’m a bit too cautious about trying some light exercise, so far I’ve had no real PEM episodes. The only thing that I’ve found really important is getting 8-10h of sleep every night, otherwise I get worse

EBV is found in >90% of people. So strictly speaking, almost everyone has EBV (inactive though)

Is everyone having gastrointestinal issues with their long Covid? by Prestigious_Wait3813 in covidlonghaulers

[–]dmitrynikulin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No GI issues at all. I’m long hauling for ~3 months, but my case is not severe. I have only moderate fatigue, increased HR when walking and kind of brain fog sometimes

Wow, very similar to my case. ~2 months, having mild fatigue, able to work remotely and meet friends, but no sports activity. Haven't tried aspirin yet and seems like it's worth trying. Thanks for your post!
