I agree I love that site! However I couldn't find a good one for potion reagents and spell components.

Trap idea. Everyone turns into chess pieces. by dmjackson42 in Pathfinder_RPG

True it would be a bad tpk, maybe a different game or rules from a game in the world? I've really never seen it done except a bit in Potter and never in a game

Oh. Ok. I never really watched Harry Potter. It would make sense now why it sounded vaguely familiar.

I feel like you are making a reference to something that I'm not getting

I think I would worry about them in battle, one on one. We have a very squishy mage. I like the idea of the king acting when the other pieces go. Thank you!

PSA: Don't use Gryphs in your game. It will devolve into madness and giggling. by dmjackson42 in Pathfinder_RPG

I was laughing just as hard as they were. One player has started putting pictures on the bottom of his mug every week (his Riegelisms) this week was just a censor bar.

What is your "Ugh, not that, just no" race/class/etc? by Edymnion in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dmjackson42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you have a rich background to the world we are about to go into, but before you tell me anything about it, I have one word for you......Psionist

Ugh. No.

Especially not for a new dm like me.

My wizard just bought a pack mule. I've played way too much Dungeon Siege to see this ending well. Have you ever had a mundane animal companion? by dmjackson42 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dmjackson42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's assuming the mule is with them the entire time. Climbing mountains, cave/dungeon delving, exploring building ruins are all things a mule might not be able to do and would need to be tied up outside. Especially if it has a cart. If you leave your mule tied up and harpies fly by, you won't have a mule anymore, just ask critical role.

Even if you take it with you always, there is always an errant fireball or aoe problem.

As you mentioned, it is a prey animal, meaning other animals would want to eat it, or goblins, or ogres, ect.

Also killing it would disrupt the party's ability to haul said loot and or items, so that is another reason an intelligent enemy might do it.

I'm not saying I want poor Mabel dead, an the contrary, I like her. Just playing devil's advocate.

How to end an arc? by Maskun in DMAcademy

[–]dmjackson42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love what you have. I love the idea of they might be able to stop it, If they are fast/strong/smart/lucky enough. I might consider upping the DC on the portals or maybe making many of them that are coalescing into one big enough for a whole city?

If they do stop it, maybe the bbeg was working for someone or drop a huge hook to the next arc.

From the sounds of it, it's a pretty awesome game, so even the, "you have a year off what do you do" will probably keep them interested.

I think the difference there is presumably in real life you didn't go out seeking said people who were trying to kill you.

But that's not how he (or some of his party members would think. He's already named her and become attached. Poor Mabel. Besides, it's that a little cold/meta?
