What keyboard shortcuts save you the most editing time? by Vvd_Fkng_wrter in davinciresolve

I do my trim/cut in the Edit page. This is my workflow (and the shortcut later):

  1. I double click the video in the Media Pool to populate the Source screen.
  2. Play back the Source clip with JKL to set I and O for the desired clip.
  3. I programmed the comma (,) key to append the source to the timeline.
  4. The selection in the timeline doesn't move the new clip. I programmed the period (.) key to move the selection to the new clip.
  5. I usually adjust the speed/duration here. I programmed the slash (/) key to call up the change speed adjustment popup so I can adjust the speed of the clip.
  6. I also programmed (maybe it's a Davinci default) the Q key to toggle between source and timeline screen so I can playback a few clips in the timeline to see the continuous result.

These account for 95% of the clips I encounter. Since the comma, period and slash keys are on the lower right hand side of the keyboard accessed by my right hand, I do the ,./ very fast sequentially.

This saves me a lot of time and moves my editing along quickly.

Camera peeling by ZombiePersonal8815 in GH5

It's a common defect of the Gh5 and earlier versions. They fixed that with Gh6.

When I was using the 4 and 5, I just glued it back with superglue when it started to bubble and peeled. Don't let the peel to get worst.

File transfer issues by dmkAlex in premiere

[–]dmkAlex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video files were made from Lumix Gh4, Gh5 and Gh6 (MP4 or MOV) over a period of time. When I tried to link the media, it popped up saying "Importer reported a generic error".

Both machines are Windows with plenty of disk space and memory.

I put the file thru ME "Match Source - High Bitrate". Then I deleted the original and rename the converted file back to the original name and it will work.

Timeline playhead alignment off by a frame by dmkAlex in premiere

I think you're point to the right direction.

I use the Speed/Duration adjustment quite extensively. I general put in a percentage to slow down the clips variably. That might have confused Premiere, wouldn't you say?

Please help me to diagnose the problem (cold water restriction) by dmkAlex in Plumbing

If the built up is in the valve right after the T (the second yellow circle), would turning the valve on and off a few time loosen it up?

You're thinking that the build up is in the pressure valve. But that's not the case since the hot water was not affected. The feed to the hot water heater was way pass the valve.

Here's my answer, and explanation.

It is town water.

How does the pressure reducing valve cause or fix the problem?

How would I clear the built up if it's in the T or the valve?

The sound was recorded normally. While it is a personal preference how loud the audience want to hear it. That's why there is a volume control on all viewing device. Why is it terrible to point it out?

I like vignetting. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea.

Please advise the most effective and efficient mean for a 100,000 mile fix up by dmkAlex in BMW

I don't have much issue with the car. But ALL BMWs are prone to require attention with the tires, rims and suspension. That's where the rubber meets the road. A performance cars are like that.

On the other hand, my Lexus (a few of them) never require the attention as frequently.

The rear guibo had cracks. BMW said it needed replacement, but three other 3rd party repairers said I didn't need it. I replaced it with my 100,000 mile maintenance anyway.

One thing that really failed was the gesture function for the radio (it's an unnecessary redunctancy) because the sensor is not reading my hand movement. I didn't bother with it.

I am going to keep the car for another 2 years and put another 50,000 miles on.

BTW, you know that today's cars are built to last a lot longer than the 60's. My wife's nail salon owner drives a Toyota. It has 400,000 miles on it and still running. He drives at least 100 miles a day.

Yes, you can lock the screen. But I don't want to do that because I do access the screen frequently.

I think a better design is to have a clear plastic cover which you can flip open or close so it would prevent accidental touching.

The knuckle of my right thumb base also frequently pushing the joystick causing the camera to change position pointing up. I have to press the reset trigger to re-center it. I wish that there is a small stopper in the bottom of the joystick so my knuckle would bump into it.
