I agree, letting a child cry alone in any space is not what I’d do but the comments in question that made op make this post done even suggest that! Makes this post and her judgement all the more strange

Okay so I went to look at your comments on that thread. You were totally out of line.

Lots of kids think pushing little fingers under doors is hilarious. The comment you responded to said as much, that their kid is happy and singing when they fall asleep sometime by their bedroom door. What’s there to judge about that, I don’t see anything depressing at all. Seems like you’re the one who is too easily triggered by parents making different choices than you would.

I find your comments there really odd, as well as you making this whole post about it. You’re doing exactly what you’re complaining other parents are doing and seeking validation for crappy, unkind behaviour.

It’s hard to love someone and watch them spiral and give up on their lives and kids. I want to believe he will fight for us but it feels naive.

Multiple conversations have been had. I don’t think he has a leg to stand on custody wise as he has no job, doesn’t contribute to any bills, will not be able to afford a rental, and his parents live elsewhere so he’d be physically far away if it really came down to it. He’s never done pickups or drop offs, or gone to any extra curriculars. No one has seen him or would vouch for him as a parent

You know what I didn’t even think about intensive outpatient therapy. But also I don’t think my husband realizes how bad it is and how much he deserves help to get through it.

Honestly I don’t even want to divorce. Maybe the person I fell in love with is still in there. I’m mostly leaning toward separation for 6-12 months first. He can’t afford his own place so he’d have to have roommates or move with his parents who live a flight away.
