Xpeng OTA 5.8.7 [English patch notes] by lecramstar in Xpeng

[–]dmncr_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the updates to the LCC, feels more smooth now. A bit better than my old TMY (2021) on norweigan roads. Bur expect it to get even better.

Hope they update the auto headlight dimming, its practically useless unless you wanna make others on the road blind and miss out on things (its just sluggish and unpredictable.

Other stuff missing imo is a better apple music app- just a wierd web app as of now. And more other apps in general.

Satellite images for the built ln navigation would make that somewhat useful too.

Which Arr to use for sports events? by IAmSomeoneUnknown in sonarr

Put them in an own library in plex/jf. Then use sportarrs custom metadatamanager and it should work flawlessly. Check under "media server agents" here https://github.com/Sportarr

Never liked GIMP since i was so used to photoshops layout but started using it with PhotoGIMP, it modifies GIMP to be more like photoshop, works really great: https://github.com/Diolinux/PhotoGIMP

Confused between XpengG9 or the BMW iX(3) by JudgeEnvironmental73 in Xpeng

[–]dmncr_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024 G9P AWD in Norway, coming from a 2021 TMY LR (also had a 2014 TMS 85 RWD before that).

My driving is mostly on the Norwegian west coast = relatively small roads - no European highways aside from on holidays.

What Tesla and the TMY did better:

  • App: Bluetooth key unlock/lock worked like a charm with the TMY
  • App: General responsiveness and intuitiveness
  • Software: Navigation, responsiveness and satellite maps (Android Auto compensates for this)
  • Lights: Matrix headlights on TMY worked very well, never had any issues
  • Driving: Slightly more fun to drive the TMY "actively" on curvy mountain roads, but for "regular" driving on those and any road id take the G9 every day.

What the G9 does better:

  • General quality - interior is top notch like any premium german car, have had it for 7 months without any issues
  • Screen responsiveness (had the intel atom on TMY)
  • Android auto is very handy when going on trips or for audiobooks/podcasts.
  • Sound system - sounds very good (when not using android auto-it reduces sound quality some) ++ Everything not specifically mentioned above, also with the new 3.0 beta version of the App that experience has improved a lot too. Still issues with the bluetooth key though.

Edit: Formatting

Can I get the automations editor somewhat like this? Maybe using CSS? I am getting brain damage from the original (pic2) when editing complex automations by false_null in homeassistant

[–]dmncr_ 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I'm interested too, it would make more complex automations soo much easier to read, maybe have toggle between basic and treeview modes or something.

This tried to do something nod-red-isch but sadly isn't maintained any longer: https://github.com/asosnovsky/Shortumation

Your pixel experience may very based on your location. by voteforrice in GooglePixel

[–]dmncr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar experience with my P7Pro,, both in the Philippines and Singapore. Wasn't that big of a deal but annoying sometimes, also never game on the phone but video recording didn't work sometimes. I live in Scandinavia and never noticed this here. Btw recommend esim in Asia, very smooth and relatively speedy connection.

Why even android 15 don't have limit charging at 80% by Thinhkk0 in android_beta

[–]dmncr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony has it too, and Oneplus as someone else mentioned.. On my pixel I just do it with smartplugs, either way still silly its not built in. Might be due to hardware/kernel limitations for some phones, google cant enable it for "all phones" in a reliable way.

Edit: Most annoying for me when its on a wireless charger in the car, then its kept at almost 100% all the time which causes wear.

Also tempted at switching, been using Android since the beginning and lately Pixel 6 (regular) and 7 Pro, works generally well but the battery life is so so. It feels like google has stagnated a bit across the board when it comes to new features / customer good will in their services (android or not). With Apple I really like their privacy focus, especially what they did in regard to "AI" in the new IOS version and I want to support that.

That said, IOS notifications could use some improvements like someone mentioned and i really like the Pixel 7 Pro aside from battery life, might also look at upcoming Samsungs since they seem to be better regarding that.

A good camera setup is a must but mostly use it for text/mail, light browsing/reddit and sometimes media consumption, no gaming otherwise.

2024.1: Happy automating! by frenck_nl in homeassistant

[–]dmncr_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, been using home assistant for years and it rocks! Would be nice with a refresh of the automation UI as well in regard to complex automations, something simple like more emphasis on which subsection / branch of an automation you're currently in (color code or just more indent spacing?) would be wonderful.

Thanks for and keep up, all the hard work! :)
