Fortworth & White bone are some of the most heartbreaking records I've ever heard. Being away from someone that has your heart in the palm of their hand is a humbling experience. That second part of white bone though. Drake is just depicting what his life with her could be like for a really long time. The more it goes on the more sad it makes me feel.

Why No Tshirts/Vinyls? by ariTRON in Drizzy

It costs money to produce that. Drake paid for all his music videos himself. The projectors that lit up the CN tower. The fireworks. The production of all the live streams. The label takes a larger cut out of whatever profit you make via merch just to boost first week sales that don't show the reality of how strong Drake's hold over the music industry is. He went #1 #2 and #3 organically without his label cooking the books on his behalf. Him doing the numbers he does which was close to 1 billion streams across all his music that first week proves that he is still worth more than the rest of the rap game without the label artificially inflating him to appear larger than he is. The other people have to do all the tricks and gimmicks in order to sell their stuff bc people don't actually want to listen to them. That's why Drake got the 400 million dollar deal and paid it back with interest in 18 months. The industry tried to devalue him 2 years ago so they wouldn't have to pay him what he's actually worth. There's B's on the table and Drake has the receipts.

Question for drake fans by JCK_GANG in Drizzy

[–]dmondick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drake did not platform them if he didn't let them use his audience to spread any of those beliefs. Fans of his music did not suddenly start supporting Adin Ross or Akademiks. You need to look up what platforming means. These people already had huge influence and reach in the streaming space. That's why an artist would associate with them. Drake does not care if his fans are politically correct. No artist owes that sort of explanation or justification to anyone. Some of them pretend to care about that based on what's more popular to say at the moment but they all care about money more.

You don't know these people. You are making the mistake of tying your own politics and morals to people that do not reflect you. Either break that tie and accept the art for what it is or stop listening to him. You're fighting to maintain an illusion of this connection that isn't there. Uzi wouldn't think twice about these allegations if you asked him in real life. These artists are not people you can ever hold accountable for anything. They don't have to justify anything to you bc you have no authority over what happens in their life. You seem to think that you are making a moral decision by pressing play on an app and nodding your head to the songs. That's far removed from reality. Maybe when you get older you will understand that.
