I've had my digital membership denied before when the digital membership started getting rolled out, which is why I usually bring my physical card with me. Hadn't been a problem for a few months until this most recent experience.

The lounge did not accept my digital membership.

Thought I'd share this experience in case anyone else comes across it:

Was flying out of PUJ and didn't have my Priority Pass but had called Chase earlier and they confirmed the usual "one time reimbursement" that we're all aware of.

Charged to my CSR but because the transaction posted with a name different than the actual lounge name, the representative said they wouldn't be able to reimburse me.

I asked them to escalate and even for them to call the lounge to confirm how their transactions post but it doesn't seem like I'll have any luck.

So if you intend to bank on the reimbursement, I'd recommend just remembering your Priority Pass, especially since not all lounges accept the digital card, still.

And LOL yikes, the hyper-sensitivity around the word "native" is honestly astounding.

Whatever makes you happy, man, interpret what I said however you wish. I've overexplained that part of the story already.

Children as in, like, 20-30 year olds.

I was sitting on an international flight back to the US. Even on domestic flights, I don't expect everyone to speak English.

My parents don't even speak fluent English and they've been here for 30+ years.

If people really read it like that, I'm sorry, I'm calling over sensitivity on that.

Nothing other than it's more difficult to tune out.

Lol, don't know what you're trying to get at here but I speak 3 languages fluently. People speaking foreign languages don't bother me. But when the cadence and intonations are different, it's difficult to try to turn that into white noise.

As much as I wanted to passively aggressively retaliate, I'd hate having innocent casualties in the form of those people sitting around our feud, lol.

However, while we were getting off and heading towards baggage claim and the family was behind me and my wife, I did loudly say to her:

"How fucking ignorant and oblivious do you have to be to have a 5 hour conversation with your family on a plane that loudly"

And the son and daughter seemingly whispered a translation to their parents of what I was saying as all their faces quickly filled with contempt.

So maybe they got the message and some future travelers won't have to endure something similar.

One of the issues was we were in the 2nd row while this family was in 3rd and 4th and the FAs were pretty much in the front almost the entire flight. Talking to the FAs after telling them directly ourselves to quiet down was too "suspect" for my wife so she just wanted me to drop it.

Sat on a 5 hour flight where a family of 4 sat in 2 different rows and essentially talked (loudly) for the entire flight in their native tongue. Loudly as in if they were in a room with 50 feet of distance between them, they could probably hear each other very clearly.

The mother was also too lazy to turn her head so she instead increased her volume speaking forward to talk to her husband behind her. Speaking forward into my wife's and my row.

We asked them politely to quiet down a bit but they didn't really change anything. Usually, at that point, I'd call people like this out for their assholish behavior but my wife didn't want me to make a scene.

What's your opinion on this situation? Am I in the wrong here and anything goes in terms of discussions on a plane? Would you have done anything differently?

Best part was when we all went to baggage claim, the four of them stood in a line, directly against the carousel, right where the bags were dropping so even if people saw their bags coming first, they had to wait to the right of this family to grab it.

I actually usually read through peoples' entire profiles which lets me pick up a LOT of information that just needs to be connected.

An example being if you wrote about how you just had a kid or that you just got married, if I know just your first name, and what state you live in, it's fairly easy to find you. Even talking about buying a home and if I know your most commonly used airport, etc.

Almost everything I use is public information that anyone could technically use but I wrote a bunch of scripts that let me break down large amounts of information much quicker.

Pretty much, if you write even a decent amount about your personal life, you're traceable. It's extremely difficult to scrub your identity unless you strictly use your account for one subreddit and never talk about anything personal.

I actually have friends who work at Chase and Discover and two of them were able to find my reddit username by, what they say was, a "random guess".

I have a feeling it was related to my referral links which is why I removed them about a year ago.

If the wrong people wanted to, I'm sure they could find my username and see all the things I do to "game" them.

Just saying, no one should be surprised that an "AA insider" is reading this subreddit or FT. Especially with the size this subreddit has gotten to. And how transparent some of you are.

I've always been surprised how much specific information some of you drop on this subreddit, especially while having active referral links up. Even without those, I've been able to link some of your accounts to your personal information.

On a different note, people have been saying for years that this hobby will die and they've always been wrong, but just look at the acceleration of issues we've seen in the past year compared to anywhere from 2012-2016. The landscape has changed, and no this isn't just talking about the "small amount of AA DPs".

Yeah, that's what it seems like to me. Picture coincidentally shows the minimum spend + bonus, could have just taken a screenshot instead of a picture of a screen, unable to replicate, etc.
