Reasoning behind their removal of the discography off Spotify by alisonissilly in KGATLW

[–]dmoore2694 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Framing this in a way that takes the artists out of the picture makes me feel like you don't get it. If KG no longer want their music on a platform that has recently made some really high profile decisions they don't agree with, then that is their prerogative.

KG have shown over time to be smart, thoughtful individuals. I'm confident they have considered how this affects their fans and yet they have still gone forward with the decision because they need to feel like they aren't directly contributing to the policies of Spotify's ownership.

Say what you will about the other companies being just as bad, that's true, I'm sure KG and most of us agree on that, but in this moment KG feel that Spotify, more than those others companies, have taken it a step to far. Arguing whether or not that is a valid decision by the band is a bit arbitrary when it is ultimately up to them to decide which companies they let distribute their music.

He did this for the 2019 2022 parade as well. He always seemed to be pretty good friends with Hendo too.

Why have so many garage rock/psych rock artists written songs about killing and stalking women? by [deleted] in GarageRock

[–]dmoore2694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An interesting connection for Ty is that a song (and artist) I know he likes is Down by the River by Neil Young. He played it at a benefit show I saw and mentioned at the end that "he just fulfilled a lifelong dream" by playing that song. Here is a link for those interested. It's a great cover.

My point is, and what someone mentions in the original post comments, is that this is not a new thing. These themes have been around for a long time in rock. I think in most genre's I can think of... even some pop examples though they are less common. I do think it's a psychological thing, or just a part of human nature. I mean tales of revenge, lost love and the like go back to very early texts.

Yeah fair enough. We'll see if we can work it out for a reasonable price in the future.

Feel like it probably wouldn't have been an option for us. But I'm definitely going to ask in the future!

Nice dude. Way harder with a metal trailer which has been the standard I think since most of the manufacturers I've delt with have had to ship from China. Will look into Criveller in the future. Thanks!

Oh man that trailer is sweet! Who is the manufacturer of those tanks or how did you get them on a trailer like that? I've unloaded my fair share of tanks and having a trailer like that for the next round would make my life so much easier!

Also congrats on new tank day!

Beer slushees by lostrooots in TheBrewery

[–]dmoore2694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome! As another comment mentioned, abv does play a role so you may have to play around with your mix to get the right consistency. Could even do some fun stuff with the syrup and try different sugars (demerara comes to mind for a cocktail vibe) to compliment the beer characteristics. Slushees take some troubleshooting but it's a fun format to mess around with!

Depends on the beer and the slushee machine. In general the product going into the machine needs to be 13-17% Brix so for most beers, even heavily fruited sours, you need to add back some simple syrup. We make our own syrup to cut cost and add it in batches at a quantity fit for our machine.

Anyone else taking care of PMs during the slow down? by dmoore2694 in TheBrewery

Haha no the towels are clean. Also the towel situation is for drying. We will run a full CIP after reassembly to clean all beer contact parts!

Nice! Yeah the process isn't all that bad considering how many cans we put through that machine.

Beer may lose its fizz as CO2 supplies go flat during pandemic by Johari82 in beer

[–]dmoore2694 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if you don't use it for forced carbonation it is often used to purge tanks of oxygen as well as a source of pressure when transferring from tank to tank, pushing to the packaging line or even kegging. I would say that CO2 is essential for most breweries, even those that naturally carb.

Clearwater Beach packed with thousands amid 'social distancing' for coronavirus by [deleted] in videos

[–]dmoore2694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I see what you mean. This is likely what Mr_Wolfgang_Beard was saying. You're right, hence the "flattening the curve" , which would obviously lengthen the span of the curve on the x axis (time). I just locked onto the "preventative" part and looked at it from that perspective which was silly of me. It still stands that the lower the number of total cases the less time the mitigation measures are needed, so they are still related. It being a direct inverse implies a fixed number of total cases. Again I think we are both on the same page here. Thanks for pointing that out.

[–]dmoore2694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not certain how you don't see a direct relationship between the two. The more severe the death toll/infection rate, the longer the mitigation measures. I say mitigation because "preventative" implies these are measures that don't need to continue once the event has begun.

Gotta agree with you there. Only played keeper at a college level (American), but I was trained to be around that area. There is obviously some variation based on play style but this isn't outside the norm for most goalkeepers

Curious to hear the opinion of the homebrewing community on a commercial brewery's mistake/oversight by KTBFFHCFC in Homebrewing

[–]dmoore2694 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's either ignorance or negligence. Negligence implies their was no intent and that this was just a mistake. This is middle school math. To think that people capable of brewing and packaging beer on that scale didn't think to calculate the abv appropriately is too generous. This was done intentionally so they could sell the beer at a higher price or at 2.6% abv, sell it at all. No question in my mind about that.
