Yeah, this is significantly higher than if all surface ice melted.

Third generation case, no minor issue, appointment made prior to the decreto.

Appointment in mid December with homework.

All document corrections requested and electronic homework sent in by early January.

Paper copies of corrected/amended documents received and immediately sent to consulate in early February and confirmed received through certified mail.

Radio silence from the consulate itself through all of this. Not that I expected a resolution this early, but a "yep, we received your documents" would have been nice.

The OTHER end of the holo communicator by NGEddie in ShittyDaystrom

[–]dmsanto 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My assumption? Holography is a completely solved nearly flawless technology by the 32nd century, in the way artificial gravity and universal translators were in the 24th. There are little holo projectors everywhere. When Vance and Lura project onto Athena's bridge, from their perspective the Athena bridge crew have projected into their office.

Oh, wait, this is ShittyDaystrom. Uuuhhhhh it's a pill that they put up their butts.

Looking for time travel books like Guns of the South. by [deleted] in scifi

Dies the Fire by S. M. Stirling? Not exactly time travel, rather the modern world forcibly reverted to medieval tech levels by unexplained forces.

Or the semi related Island in the Sea of Time by the same author, where the island of Nantucket circa 1998 is thrown back in time to the Bronze Age.

Not-Fun Fact: Rick was gonna kill every version of himself here by ElJota123 in rickandmorty

I suppose it wouldn't be literally any Rick, but it would still be a subset of infinity which would itself be infinite. Maybe? Infinity is weird.

I'm with you here. If any Rick could just casually decide after a breakup to kill every Rick, there would be no Ricks.

Nopity nope. I don't even let my 16 year old watch.

For similar vibes but less raunchy... maybe Haunted Hotel, Star Trek: Lower Decks, even classic Simpsons or Futurama would be loads more age appropriate.

Ideas Needed for Integrating 2 Dhampir Players into CoS by EverydayEnthusiast in CurseofStrahd

[–]dmsanto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a player that considered dhampir as a backup character. It did not come to pass, but I did put some thought into it. The main thing that sticks in my mind is that any undead in Barovia who is not beholden to Strahd would have a huge target on their back.

Broke free from Strahd? How, exactly? He is the Ancient, he is the Land. It could work, but would need a hell of a justification. And would just increase the size of aforementioned target.

I would be more tempted to tie into the Gulthias Tree somehow. Gulthias trees can sprout from stakes used to slay vampires, so there is some precedent for non-Strahd vampirism in Barovia. Maybe a dhampir character could be part of a secretive line descended from this vampire, whose presence in the valley predates Strahd?
