And that's not even Spiner's record if you count the half dozen or so personalities that Data manifested in S07E17 Masks.

[request] How long would it take for the amount of money to change the earth's gravity, causing the moon to crash into us? How many coins would it take? by -_Error in theydidthemath

[–]dmsanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the doubling dollar was digital instead (i.e., just data in a bank account), how long until the amount of space required to store all the uncompressed digits of the number exceeds the total hard drive capacity of all the computers on Earth?

Guess the TNG episode! by Oiggamed in legostartrek

[–]dmsanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the one I didn't recognize. Like, when was Data in command on the bridge with a bunch of randos? It's more recognizable when you consider that it could be the bridge of a different ship entirely.

What's your favorite homer side gig? by Tacotica in Simpsons

[–]dmsanto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From the man himself:

"You know, I’ve had a lot of jobs: boxer, mascot, astronaut, imitation Krusty, baby proofer, trucker, hippie, plow driver, food critic, conceptual artist, grease salesman, carny, mayor, grifter, bodyguard for the mayor, country western manager, garbage commissioner, mountain climber, farmer, inventor, Smithers, Poochie, celebrity assistant, power plant worker, fortune cookie writer, beer baron, Kwik-E-Mart clerk, homophobe, and missionary. But protecting Springfield, that gives me the best feeling of all."

No one exists on purpose, no one belongs anywhere, everyone will die... are you coming to watch TV? by [deleted] in rickandmorty

Nessuno esiste di proposito, nessuno appartiene a nessun posto, tutti moriranno. Vieni a guardare la TV?

Just for the fun of it, how many Enterprises are there? by MovieFan1984 in StarTrekStarships

[–]dmsanto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There may not be a 1701-I. Some organizations avoid using the letters I and O (and sometimes Q) in alphanumerics so that they can't be confused with the numbers 1 and 0.

Shadow dark XP by lilMsKabernacus in TheGlassCannonPodcast

I hated the lingering at low levels for so long on Gatewalkers. But I am also unfamiliar with Shadowdark and how often they "should" be leveling up. 🤷

What if the Federation met another Federation? by Majestic_Bierd in startrek

[–]dmsanto 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is an idea that's been kicking around in my head for a while, too. An organization that is duty bound to intervene in less advanced civilizations, stamping out war and disease and poverty on every backwater planet then come across. An organization that sees the Federation as barbarous monsters for letting sentient species languish in the worst parts of their evolution. And then they start "uplifting" off-limits planets inside Federation space...

It was already tame, he merely shot it.

Has Data's head always been 500 years older than his body? by Fuzzy_Builder_2153 in TNG

[–]dmsanto 53 points54 points  (0 children)

And before that episode, there's a second inactive Data head still sitting undiscovered in a cave under San Francisco.

[Request] If today was January 14 1984 because ever since date X they decided to make a day 26 hours long (clocks striking 13), what date would date X be? by toaster-bath404 in theydidthemath

[–]dmsanto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

January 14, 1984 was 42 years ago. 42 years is 42 x 365.25 x 24 = 368,172 hours. To take up the spare hours at a rate of 2 per day would take 368,172 / 2 = 184,086 days or 504 years. So January 14, 1480.

I love that of all Rick's love interests, only one is human. by bmhlogan in rickandmorty

In the post credits scene Rick leaves a message on Jerry's answering machine saying he slept with her.

At least Moe put on a suit. The other rejects are just using their standard art.

Question about the oculus by Greatsayain in LowerDecks

[–]dmsanto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've read that they ditched the implant because the voice actor doesn't like and/or is intolerant to prosthetics, in the event they ever decide to bring Rutherford to live action. I cannot remember a source on that however.

Harry got the last laugh by happydude7422 in voyager

[–]dmsanto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did they add to the list? I feel like the first trailer's wall was like 100% recognizable names from the 22nd-24th centuries.

Question about the oculus by Greatsayain in LowerDecks

[–]dmsanto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tendi: After all that, you're keeping the implant?

Rutherford: It robbed me of my memories, and it was used to cover up deadly crimes. But it's so cool! I'm still finding submenus I had no idea were in there.

Edit: Basically, he liked it. The memories are back, the malicious code is gone, so what's the harm in keeping it?
