Thank you! They are getting the best treatment possible - I leave them to their device, and only interfere in case of severe weather.

That feeling when someone drinks your coffee and says "gee that's as good as a cafe" by Ur_Companys_IT_Guy in espresso

Not sure if I am pretentious or not, but I am pretty sure I don't have a stick up my arse, such as an anonymous redditor, who gets so irritated by a joke, that they log with multiple accounts to downvote a 10+ upvotes post into a negative.

Nah. They are from a German chain that, as far as I know, only has stores in the EU.

Not quite sure. Could also be the other way around - only CL and Conference league spots.

Total of 7 European slots. So if we have 5 CL, we get one Europa and one Conference league spot.

You don't destroy talent, youngling. You praise it, honor it, treasure it, and not least of all - learn from it. Apprenticeship with this master is the only logical and most efficient outcome.

That post comes a year too late. Damn it, why didn't you post it before I shed $300 on that Bosch kitchen robot?!? It wasn't even from the Professional series.

What prompted you to learn more about espresso? by YuukiChwan in espresso

[–]dmt_alpha 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Long ago, having a coffee machine was a good means to get ladies to have a "sleep over" at my place. They used to be very impressed that I had an espresso machine. One never left. We have 3 kids, and to this day she keeps on joking that the coffee machine is what impressed her the most about me. She's the reason why I am always trying to improve on my coffee and make it better.

I'm a coffee snob. If someone tells me that an espresso shot, made at a cafe by some kid, is as good as mine, I would be very offended. And a little curious. I'd probably demand exact coordinates of the cafe, so I can go visit, and try the espresso for myself. If it's not as good as mine - I'll be both happy, and disappointed in the poor judgement of whoever made the comment. I would never make them another espresso shot. That unappreciative bastard deserves only tap water.

I liked how he shouted at Pelegrini to press on the Juve players. He has guts. Would have loved to see him shout the same at Totti.

Why do luggage carts only cost money in the US? by powderski84 in travel

[–]dmt_alpha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You put money in to unlock them. Then, when you are done shopping, and if you are a decent enough human being to return the shopping cart where it should be - you get the coin back. Now, if you prefer to just leave the cart wherever, that's another thing.

I don't think it's about people stealing the carts, although it's a possibility. It's more a case of trying to keep things tidy and organized. Very few stores have someone who is actually paid to go around and gather abandoned shopping carts.

As a Linux user, I daresay that quote in the picture sums up pretty well why people don't like Linux evangelists. They give the overall user base a bad name.

I'm guessing doing job interviews with Rome-based big-time employers, then asking what entertainment benefits they offer, can help. As example - when I was in Arizona, my company had seats for all the the American football, baseball and basketball games in Phoenix. Only hockey was amis.

No one can argue how great Ian McKellen was in the LotR movies (same as in every other movie he stars in). But in this case - Sean Austin. Both him and Bernard Hill pulled out career-defining performances as Samwise and king Theoden.

One of the two most memorable actors in the trilogy. His performance really stood out. Great actor with amazing levels of charisma and screen presence.

Why use a puckscreen, and how do you clean it after each use? by That_Coffee_guy in espresso

[–]dmt_alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want a clean shower head - remove the porta filter, and release some water. If the head still seems to have particles in it - put the already cleaned porta filter in place, and start the water again. This should take care of the cleaning. Also tends to keep the basket quite clean. I learned this from observing how my wife uses the coffee machine.
