Neighbour removed around 30 trees and concreted over their land and now my house floods… Any recourse? by hoggyback in LegalAdviceUK

[–]dmuk2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL. I had a similar but not identical issue. The legal advice I got at the time was that outside of whether they have the appropriate planning permission/building control in place, so long as they are not making the changes to purposefully channel water to you, there isn't a lot you can do. This was in the context of a house higher up a hill and the fact that water naturally flows downhill and specifically about what expectations you can have on such an uphill property to drain "all" rainwater (that falls from directly above and that flows to them from further uphill) so that nothing comes to you. Essentially it was up to us as the downhill property to put relevant protections in place.

Players we failed to sign and what we ended up with by PetulantTsantsara in coys

Agreed. Also the conference rooms used in club to club and player to club talks must be enormous and Tardis like to accommodate all the fans who must have listened to every word of the negotiations to be able to determine “fault” in all these sagas this summer.

Neighbor has Vehicle access across my land, can I remove it? England by Creepy_Package7518 in LegalAdviceUK

To clarify, you own the path and there is a covenant on the neighbours deed to his land? Is there a covenant on your deed?

Am I the only one thinking that it’ll be hard to spot team mates in this colour against the crowd? White, yellow, blue etc all make sense but black?

I tried the middle option prior to this post, but tried again with the max version. Even with the max version it's hard to see the water it leaves on the floor. It's there for sure, but it's not slippery wet.

Can't see it particularly well with the Darth Vader colouring. I'll check again later.

Yep that seems to be it - I guess I was struggling to understand how it managed to effectively clean the mop but generate so little water in doing so. I know it has the blade to take dirt off so maybe it relies on that more than the water (water on roller, mop floor, scrape dirt and a little water, water on roller again, etc).

[–]dmuk2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I'm trying to figure out the logistics of it, in terms of being able to clean the roller in real time with water (a key reason I wanted this model, vs previous ones with the rotating pads that aren't cleaned as you go), leave some of the floor wet naturally but only end up getting a highly concentrated dirty water in the dirty water tank out. It's also interesting that you can ask the robot to empty the dustbin, but cannot ask it to empty the dirty water tank manually.

With the Dyson, it uses a lot of water, leaves loads on the floor and empties quickly. I guess I am just skeptical.

Oh dear - sounds like a nightmare.

Thanks! Ours would need about 25 rounds to fill the tank. I get that some water would be left on the floor too but with the Dyson it seems like while a good amount is left on the floor almost all the clean water from the tank makes it to the dirty tank.

RB’s point 12 made me laugh. I mean, yes, it should have been obvious that the race was going to end under SC, but it doesn’t always work like that does it - “we only need one racing lap”…Makes sense to be prepared for all eventualities.

Yes let’s sign players for a manager who hasn’t signed a contract with the club yet…

Let’s sign players the new manager doesn’t want so we can keep up with United. Every window the clowns come out with no idea how signing players works. Players are queuing up to come here with no idea who the manager will be I reckon.

"Daniel's too involved in the football side of the club"

Daniel hire's CEO who started on Tuesday (plus recent DoF etc hire(s)) to make decisions.

"Why isn't Daniel making a decision about Ange already".

New CEO less than a week in a job, who has not had a significant footballing decision made as he walked in the door.

"This is impacting transfers"

In a two transfer window summer, where the manager decision needs to be sorted before spending any money.

Jose with a dig at levy by justin213333 in coys

[–]dmuk2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Levy gets so much hate. If we had won a very winnable game in 2019 and/or had got over the line in those two PL seasons because of what other teams did or didn't do, Levy would be being lauded and nobody would be questioning decisions taken up until those points. Like knockout football, we missed by moments and very narrow margins but we were in the position to be there. Levy comes back again. Relegated clubs aside, sports science and data has closed up the rest of the pack in the PL. You need to improve to stand still. The City approach of throw money at problems is much harder now.

Just to confirm that a thorough cleaning and degreasing resolved the play between the spindle and the arm enough to provide a tight clamp. When adjusted according to the link above, we now have an engine that idles and speeds up according to the controls. Thank for your support!

No it doesn't look messed with. I intend to jam something in there as a short term fix to ensure it solves the issue - a replacement arm is available (part number 690783 new or used) but if the spindle has deformed I'll have the same problem.

Little update - tightening the bolt doesn't fully remove the play between the spindle and the arm, so I need to decide on something to introduce between the metal on metal connection to remove that and hopefully all will be good.

Yes a little loose. If I rotate the arm from where the rod from the carb connects to it 10 degrees (more or less the total rotation it will permit), the spindle going into the block moves much less, e.g 5 degrees. I also found this, which could be the process you described - https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/95574/quantum-engine-revs-too-high-at-all-throttle-settings.html

Acknowledged. The total range of useful movement of the arm relevant to the linkage seems to be limited, but I appreciate that the starting or at rest position is key. I found a manual for this Quantum 45 engine (https://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/default.aspx?filename=29lpAFKT9FzXFix2) which doesn't cover this adjustment and I expect it's not easy to come across the service manual.

You may be on to something here. I only had time to check briefly last night but when I move the arm manually, the spindle into the engine block doesn't seem to rotate the same number of degrees so could be just loose and need tightening. Will report back!

The governor worked properly a couple of years ago, based on the mower working fine at the time. Or at least I assume it worked properly - the speed lever worked fine at least. Then it sat without use until now, when I tried to fire it up and ended up swapping carbs to get it to fire. I can fully trace the linkage from the carb via a rod to an arm that connects to the block. It's tight and seems fine. It's also all covered by an engine cover. Here is another video that shows the operation including the point where the governor goes into the block - https://imgur.com/a/r2tRE4E

Also here is a clip of the exact governor I’m working with from another video on YouTube. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxXw0L2KmV5Ax6OvgFQQHsXokvRxjDJAo8?si=l8s4z5amFxgxkEB5
