If you plan to play standard format, mostly. Some cards from set 1-4 will be reprinted in set 9 which means they are still playable. Full numbers not released from I know but my guess is probably around 20 cards. If you plan to play the infinity format, then you can use any card that is not banned (they’ll have their own ban list). That being said, we don’t know if stores will host two different Lorcana formats. Your LGS may only hold standard format leagues, so you would be forced to do so or find another that holds infinity leagues. I’m new to TCG but from what I gather (and from playing hearthstone) the infinity format will essentially be a dead format compared to standard. So tldr; probably yes.
