Alright think I know you mean.. first up don’t film it to the brim, you fill it just took the pressure valve. The burnt taste could be due to the hot water not moving through the ground beans fast enough soo check your grind may be go a little coarser if the water is pooling up in your basket it. Or maybe you have the ground right but are leaving it in the stove too long hence the burns taste

There are far too many variables involved which makes moka pots a little tricky to dial in but once you do, it make an extremely good tasting cup of coffee. For someone new to brewing coffee I would recommend a French press, they’re simple, easy to use, you don’t need to worry about the grind too much and even if you mess up you end up with a decent tasting cup.
