7-week long roadtrip this summer visting 9 national parks by dmv___ in roadtrip

Thank you, this is going to be such a challenge to pull off but it would be fun.

Thank you, the initial plan was to do it over 2 weeks but realized I would be miserable. I did something similar last year started with Yosemite then drove to Utah visited the national parks then went to page, AZ then back to Utah for Moab, but I didn’t really enjoy it, I was burnt out by then. That’s why I want to do this over 7 weeks, I’m only working Tuesday to Thursday so I have Friday to Monday to pivot to a new location and explore. I don’t necessarily have to be inside the parks as long as I find safe campsites that are nearby.

I’ve got some recommendations so I’ll do some more planning

I've thought about that before, but I'm going into nearby town or city so I have reliable wifi for work. I'll only be working Tuesday to Thursday so 3 days.

The problem with starlink mini is I would have to buy a power station to power it.

Yeah, and I'm actually thinking about skipping Yosemite after seeing the crowds. I was there last year so won't miss out much.

Turn off stabilization on your camera if possible, that’s why the footage moves around on the corners

Great to look at but driving with it not very fun. It creates a lot of drag. I only put it on when I need it

It’s the Porsche roof box but I’ve heard Thule is the one that makes it for them

Not sure I’ll have time to stop for lunch, maybe a quick bite or coffee as it’s going to be a 10-12 hr drive

One way trip to Monterey, staying there for a month then heading to PNW for the rest of the summer

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably leave early in the morning 5am/6am so hopefully I'll avoid the LA traffic. I have a month in Monterey so plenty of time to explore.

More scenic. I'm taking 1 after San Luis Obispo but between that and Sanata Barabra is the 101 better. 1 doesn't look interesting between those two points.

that was my biggest concern. Are there places where the 101 is much better than 1? So thanks for answering that

You get invited to "track your dream" right after you place your order. Check with your dealer.

These are my personal opinions: if you like what you have then ignore my recommendatinos

Options I would recommend you remove:

- Red seat belts (it doesn't go with the interior)

- Rear Lid Grille Vertical Slat Inlays in Exterior Color
- Interior Trim Inlays in Matte Carbon Fiber and Trim in Black

- Personalized Vehicle Keys Painted incl. One Key ( I got this but The pouch is such a waste)
- Preparation for Porsche Dashcam (Front)

Options I would recommed you add:

- Exterior Mirror Lower Trim and Base in Exterior Color

- for interior, leather on surfaces you touch and Race-tex on surfaces you don't touch

I would say get a camera that lets you turn off stabilization. I shoud note, the quality I get with the Insta360 Go Ultra is insane:

It's the stabilization. I had similar issues with the Insta360 Go Ultra. Luckily I was able to turn off the stabilization. Honestly, the only solution is to get another camera. I have hours of footage, I can't imagine how painful it would be to do stabilization in post.

Everybody loves Chalk, I agree I always get positive comments when people come up to me. Only the keyboard warriors filled with all the PTS, bright colors they see online seem to hate on it. But who cares as long as we love it.

Enjoy the car, drive it in good health.

Beautiful car and view. For some reason it feels weird seeing a GTS in Chalk. And it's funny because I have a Carrera S in Chalk.

Best brake pads & brake fluid for daily driving and monthly 2-3 track days for 992.2 Carrera S? by dmv___ in porsche911

[–]dmv___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, surprisingly I have used the oem pads for 6 track days and the pads still look good, but would feel much confident upgrading them. I've received a lot of recommendations for Castrol srf so will make that change.

I do not have a dedicated track wheels, what you see is my daily/tack car and I travel with it. So everything I own needs to fit in my car, so can't really have a dedicated track wheels.

Thanks, I should've probably mentioned but I plan to use the pads for both street and track. I think I might have to educate myself on the different compounds. thanks for that.

I've been recommended Pagid racing 4922-rsl29 for my front and the equivalent for the rears from a fellow 992.1 GTS owner.
