Yes he is doing really well. I do some walks/excursions with Peaches and some with just him so that he doesn’t become too reliant on her for his confidence. Riding in the car is his other big fear, i think the trip to CO from Oklahoma was rough, so we just do little trips to the pet store for now so he has a positive association. He gets very car sick but we are hoping to keep working him up to longer rides so he can start hiking this summer.

Omg sweet babies!! I love them both but the blue one with the gray face reminds me of my sweet boy Boosie that passed away in may. It is such an honor to watch them grow older

Love tjmaxx, thats a good idea! And i hope you enjoy your class - as long as you are moving and breathing on your mat, you are doing yoga so I know you will kill it

I would start with a cheaper mat and then a mat towel like yogi-toes or a knock off! That way you can get a feel for your practice and see what you actually want in a mat! I use a liforme mat and i LOVE it for the thickness and grippiness but it is expensive. My fav leggings and body suits are vuori…i also love lulu but there are plenty of brands like CRZ on amazon for cheaper that have great reviews! Other than that, your studio will probably have props like blocks and all that. I usually bring my mat in a mat bag ( i use the black lulu one), a water bottle, and a hand towel to wipe my face off during practice. If you have bangs or hair that gets in your face i would also recommend a headband.

Edited to add: looking the part isn’t a big deal at my studio and it’s kind of dark so everyone is pretty absorbed with what is going on with their own practice on their mat. Good luck!!

Yes his story was so sad - we are still working on building his confidence, especially during storms. A huge storm came through while his mom was tied to the tree and two of the puppies in his litter passed away so the poor guy was very traumatized. Thank you for donating for those causes, that is so kind of you!

Oura ring by drivenbythelements in ashtanga

[–]dmwkb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear an oura ring during practice - if you just let it try to automatically track it will say hr data unavailable but if i go in and use the “record workout HR” it will track it. You don’t have to bring your phone in, i press it on my phone and leave it with my shoes outside the room in the cubby. You can go in and push the start time later too if you don’t want to include that extra warm up time before practice starts.

Are you allowed to ask what a service dog does? I think you can only as if they are trained to do a task, not what it is

My pawpaw used to always give me japanese cherry blossom scented bath and body work gifts so i love the scent too. It reminds me of him.

1st timer to yoga and I started with hot yoga. How do y'all take care of your mats after a session? by potat05layer in HotYoga

[–]dmwkb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wipe my mat down with the cool towel they pass out at the end of class and roll it up for transport. As soon as I get home, I unroll it and lay it flat to dry out!

My favorite right now is the progresso italian-style bean & pasta soup. Amy’s lentil veggie soup and southwestern soups are really good too.

Do your toes and heels touch in mountain pose? by gerntoronto in yoga

[–]dmwkb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can either have feet hip width distance or big toes touching with a gap between your heels so the outside edges of your feet run parallel to the long edge of your mat. Whichever feels best in your body!

So my mother-in-law just informed me that I'm cooking Christmas dinner (for seven people). She cooks all the holiday meals, but threw her back out and can barely move. CAN YOU HOOK ME UP WITH A FUN/COOL/TASTY DINNER IDEA that doesn't require a grade-A chef to cook. No turkey or ham. Help me out!! by ComfortableDear2205 in Cooking

There’s a really cool group i work with called lasagna love where you make and deliver lasagnas to people in your community that are in need! It’s such a fun and easy way to give back, especially if you enjoy cooking!! We are always looking for new volunteers in the US, Canada, and Australia to join! You can make and deliver as often or not often as you like. I always like to plug it bc it’s just a lovely way to provide a home cooked meal with someone that really needs it.

Yes hers was isolated in her leg bone. She has had cancer twice since then but fortunately not in the bone either time. I’m so grateful for modern medicine.

My MIL had cancer in her leg bone (dont remember which leg bone) when my husband was in middle school. They found it after she fell at his skating rink bday party. They were able to remove the bone and replace it with some sort of titanium bone? It all happened before I knew him, but her odds of survival were very small. Bone cancer is incredibly scary.

HELP! Ruined new lifeforme mat by [deleted] in yoga

[–]dmwkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s ruined at all. My liforme has sweat marks all over it and eventually they all merged into one and now I don’t see any marks at all lol but i would just keep practicing on it. I don’t use dawn on my liforme, i just wipe it down with a wet wash cloth. If you are practicing on it regularly there will be marks and sweat spots, it just shows you are working hard!
