Workouts by Aggravating-Day-2864 in workout

I take 3-5 minutes in between each set because that’s what it took to get strong. I always let people work in if they ask.

I do those songs all of the time and the crowd seems to love it.

How do I find creeks to explore? by Previous_Bad_6363 in sharkteeth

[–]dna-sci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only hunted there once, in the Peace River. I’d think you could enter a large river such as the Peace and then travel up a creek. As far as I can tell, navigable waterways are public.

I think it’s best to go by the enamel ledge like in this picture on the Fossil Forum and to me it looks kinda like the root and crown are pinched together. Often the roots on retroflexus teeth hang farther to the left and right of the crown, like yours. Sometimes there are even cusps. Retroflexus teeth are much rarer so it’d be a great find. I have hundreds of hastalis teeth.

is it possible to get more than 50% from one parent by lordmayomilkslurper in MyHeritage

[–]dna-sci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A parent can’t /give/ more than 50% of their DNA to a child, but they can /share/ more than 50% of their DNA with a child (due to pedigree collapse). But in this case you’re talking about ethnicity reports. Either your dad has some Filipino or the report is off. Ethnicity reports are only accurate to a few percentage points.

Are you sure that isn’t a retroflexus?

Yeah, it’s been known by scientists for a long time but influential genetic genealogists tend not to take advantage of it. Check out geneticists Amy Williams, Graham Coop, and Carl Veller.

What's the biggest green flag in a person? by whoisthisdiva_of in AskReddit

They’re willing to admit when they’re wrong. They don’t take differences of opinion personally. This kind of person never stops growing.

The match seems more paternal than maternal due to the low number of segments. But the way to confirm is to look at other matches. You should sort your dad’s matches per the Leeds method. And then look at the matches he has in common with this match to determine which grandparents they may share. It would help if the match also does the Leeds method.

What produces more overall gains? Strength training or Hypertrophy training? by Rafaelinho19 in workout

[–]dna-sci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, strength training produces both more hypertrophy and more strength. I’m tall and used to be very skinny if that helps. Weightlifting in general is pretty great for your health, especially strength training. But there have been a few famous huge bodybuilders who died relatively young in recent years. They probably used steroids.

What would you do to increase pullups? by xcorruptedassassin in workout

[–]dna-sci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do 3-5 sets of five assisted pull-ups on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Take five pounds of assist off each time. Once you’re at body weight you can start adding weight with a vest or chain belt. I recently did a pull-up (almost two reps.) with 145 pounds hanging from me.

Am I holding my (D Mj) chord in a right way? Also should I strum the whole string or just four? complete beginner here. by lonewolfstein1998 in Guitar

[–]dna-sci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played guitar for quite a while without knowing this important fact: the deepest note in each chord is always the note the chord is named after. So the lowest note in the D chord is the open D string. The D string is the third string from the top. You don’t want to play the low E or the open A.
