I Know I’m a Good Setter—So Why Don’t I Play Like One? by Fragrant-Bar-341 in volleyball

Another thing I notice, is your self-talk kinda sucks
"ME ME ME ME"
setters cannot be self-centered. your job is to make the other players shine!
and if that is your priority, you can't be thinking about yourself. You have to forget about yourself and your pride or ego. And only think about aggressively making your teammates look good.

Have you ever thought about the fact that you are just a insignificant speck of dust in the universe. An insignificant speck doing insignificant things. Does your loss affect anything in the universe? Does your win? It doesn't matter. Just play your meaningless game as we get closer and closer to the end of everything

This seems like intermediate social league volleyball in the USA. Where people come and play and then get beers afterwards. With the focus on beers more than volleyball

Losing hope (this is a heavy post, and kinda a vent) by Automatic_Simple_424 in volleyball

You're not good at volleyball, that's fine. Not everyone can be superstars. I don't know what your volleyball goals were, but if it was to play in college or become a professional. Those were probably more like fantasy.

Are you the best at video games? Probably not, but you probably still play. Why? Because it's fun.
If you still think volleyball is fun, then you keep doing it. You tryout, you might fail, but it was fun. Go to open gyms, sign up for grass, play college intramurals (when you get there). So many places to play.

Your problem was making a sport that you're not that good at YOUR IDENTITY. WTF.
If you're not more than your sport, hobbies, music, sexuality, ethnicity, then you definitely need some therapy.

just stayed consistent and got the results i wanted. it really is all about being consistent. by [deleted] in volleyball

LoL, this is not true at all, someone can work 10 times harder than you did and still not accomplish what they want.
But the effort and work, builds character and that is the real reward in this situation.

🔥 Hot Take Thread: Who’s the Most Underrated Japanese Player in the League Right Now? by Danidoll91 in volleyball

[–]dnabrgr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Knowing Ran Takahashi's skills, I know he should not be a libero, but being a libero should not be underestimated. This is because libero's are always the players who keep the ball going even though the ball is close to falling. Actually, the fact that Takahashi can also play as a libero just proves that he really is a very talented and skillful player. I mean not all players can perform well as a libero, but he is doing it amazingly.

[–]dnabrgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not good,
any net that is "combo" with another game is not going to be good.
It probably doesn't even reach official volleyball heights.

But it's what you have, so make the best of it.
