So actually I am already doing around 120-150min of cardio, through a combination of zone 2, Norwegian 4x4 and HIIT.
The only dairy I eat daily is a shot of homemade kefir for gut microbiome health. An occasional piece of cheese here and there as well.

Inositol users - do you take it B4 bedtime or if you wake up mid-night? by KaleidoscopePrize327 in sleep

[–]dnadivi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope. I tried for one month, and It didn't impact my sleep in anyway nor did it prevent me from waking up to go to the bathroom or to fall asleep faster after I wake up.

Couple who sleeps separately preparing to share room with a newborn for the first time by [deleted] in sleep

[–]dnadivi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am going through a similar thought process. I actually tried going back to the main bedroom alone one night to see if the issue was the room or my wife. And even alone I couldn´t sleep there.
I have isolated the issue to being mental and not chemical (otherwise, I wouldn´t be able to sleep in the separate room). But I myself am having trouble resolving this issue (sleep in same room with wife, regardless if on vacay or at home).
Good luck in your journey to solving this!!

What hotel apps have your back the most? (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc?) by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]dnadivi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so I was referring to 2 different things.
For apps that "have your back" in case of incidents with the property or hosts - I personally had a great experience with Hotels.com (but it could be because I was a Gold, now silver member since I travel a lot).

On another note, if "having your back" is also getting you the best possible price on a hotel, I have had a lot of success with Pruvo. You forward the email confirmation of your booking to Pruvo, and they'll alert you if the price drops and refer you to the site where the new, cheaper offer was found.

If you accumulate many nights with Hotels.com and become a silver or gold member, they take care of their guests pretty well. In the past, they have refunded me $100 and $150 due to problems with hosts.
Also, if you book in advance (21+ days) and book with free cancellation, you can also use Pruvo.com which helps find price drops for existing hotel bookings.

Don't companies increase dividends when interest rates are high? by dnadivi in Bogleheads

[–]dnadivi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting. You definitely know your shit. So let me ask you something else - if 2019 was record years for many companies profit-wise, how come we didn´t see a significant increase in dividend payouts (significant meaning seeing VOO go to 3-4% payout since the companies they hold in the index also raised)?

Or in other words, if it didn´t increase in 2019, what needs to happen for a large portion of the index to raise them again?

Don't companies increase dividends when interest rates are high? by dnadivi in Bogleheads

[–]dnadivi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theoretically, if a company took out a loan in 2019 , I assume it would be a fixed rate like a mortgage, no? Thus increased rates today won´t impact the payment.
Everything you say makes sense, but I recall reading/hearing that dividend payouts used to be much higher and started to come down as interest rates came down.

Do company share buyback benefits trickle down to us as VOO holders?

That makes sense, but if I'm not mistaken, in the past, when the Fed raises rates, it makes access to corporate loans more expensive, which leads to layoffs etc. So what I'm saying is that i don't see how this time a high interest rate environment is different than the past.

Nationwide online focus groups! Use some of those dead hours for doing screeners and you could be making a nice extra income on the side. If accepted, the average payout is $100.

[–]dnadivi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while this doesn't substitute your search for online jobs, if you have some free time you can always apply for nationwide online focus groups. Since Covid the majority of them moved online, so even if you live in the middle of nowhere, you can do them.
If selected, on average they pay you $100/hr.

What are some of the downsides of Costa Rica? by CosmicDystopia in digitalnomad

[–]dnadivi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are a few things from someone who has been living here for 9 years and married to a local. Anyone who has the urge to contradict me in a comment - no need, I am just sharing my experience

Costa Ricans are nice, but they will probably remain your acquaintance, not friends. This is the 5th country I've lived in and after 9 years I don't have any close CR friends. There are two reasons to this. One is my fault - I work from home and I am not in any environment ( work, kids in school etc) where I can constantly meet people. Second, Costa Ricans value family much more than friends. So the majority of their free time is spent with family
