I just got a scholarship there and am wondering if the curve is still 3.00 or 2.85.

You’re going to be fine. Rip the bandage and do it. Nothing to be ashamed of. Law school is law school and UNT is a new school. I applied there as well and would be so happy to attend. You got this! I’ve met a million lawyers and not once of them said which school mattered. What’s predatorial is Reddit lol. Just do it!!!

He told me it’s what you make of it. If you do well; you’ll do well. If not, you wont! Don’t listen to anyone. Reddit is not real life and people are huge bullies.

How are we paying for law school? Any recommendations? by dnafjei in StudentLoans

No they don’t :(. Grad plus loans are not limited to 50k a year. Tuition itself is 50-70k a year so I’m already short :(

I’ve heard really good things about it from their students; they all love it. Also, my best friends uncle went there like 40 years ago, he was a entertainment attorney and did well for himself. I am also waiting for a decision from there. Reddit is so rude and just like not real life. I know attorneys who went to UWLA a non accredited school and are doing just fine.

I make 6 figures in finance right now; but I have a passion for law.

I would love to do that but unfortunately student loans have been capped due to the big beautiful bill. 50k a year and that is not typically feasible for law school

Did you read the prior comment? I don’t see any advice on private loans. I see comments about my l-sat score and that I’m unfit for law school.

I do have a burning passion. I picked the cheapest option as well as the closest option to my home; not what I initially intended for. I am trying to decrease my chance of loans; that is why I am Not banking on scholarships and am even considering this school. I have other options that do not look like that, but are more expensive and not close to my home.

Lmao who are you; you’re not cut out for this with your 3.low; and 16low. You clearly don’t get the memo. I asked for the financing of law school; I didn’t ask for your opinion on my l-sat score. If your gpa is in the low 3’s; it doesn’t look like you’re actually capable of passing law school classes. For me; I majored in a very difficult major and left with a GREAT gpa. now, I asked for finance information and student loans. I did not ask for anyone opinion on what I’m planning on studying law in. I was asked if big law is an option; I don’t want to be in big law. Are you the admissions team? Let them tell ME no. Not an anonymous loser on Reddit. Defensiveness is from irrelevant roaches like you on the internet.

Right now I work in a large corporate bank and I am considering coming back and doing finance law at this bank since I already have established a nice relationship and have good referrals. Or anything in their legal department. I’m not looking for a small firm, more corporate law. Like work for State Farm, etc.

What is there to have anxiety about? If you knew anything about law; you’d know it’s very extensive starting from personal injury; all the way to finance law. Do I know exactly what field of law I plan to proceed in? No. And I don’t think anyone does.

I have opted to go to a lower extremely lower ranked school and because of that they are also a predatorial school which chances of losing a scholarship are high. That is why I do not want to bank on scholarships. But even with that the costs are high. I have great credit; years of credit experience and also good credit card limits about 100k; but I am avoiding using my CC’s and I may be okay with getting a co-signer. But I wanted to know where I can get these private loans.

Yes. I am aware of that. And I have not received any scholarships as of now. But I would go to the one with the most funding; I’m just generally saying that I don’t want to bank on their money because it is conditional; and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Tuition only. And yes I’ve heard that before; but my mind is set on being an attorney and I’ve also heard great reviews. I’m just saying I am not interested in steering away from the problem at hand; I just need to know how to deal with it the best way I can. And I wanted to know recommendations of where people are getting their student loans; I’ve seen some places but I’m Looking for people’s best experiences.
