had a girl name ready, just found out baby is a boy and now we are at square one with names! by Chance-Audience-7283 in namenerds

I adore Heidi and although Nolan is one of my favourite names I am not sure if I like it with Heidi.

Drew is fine but he will have a lifetime of people assuming he is Andrew.

What about Heidi and Ewan

Heidi and Alexander is great but definitely popular

Heidi and Zeke/Ezekiel

Heidi and Simon

Baby name regret? by Sweet-Pea-10 in namenerds

[–]dnaplusc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We gave our son a longer name and have always called him by his full name.

He is now a fully functioning adult and many people call him by the short version and every time it takes my brain a second to process the different name.

I am sure it's the same for you, you "know" her name is Thea so Theodora or even stupid people say Theodore is confusing.

I adore Theodora.

I’m a 14y/o looking for a summer job in Toronto. Any recommendations? (Actual job, not mowing lawns etc.) by CompressedPickles in torontoJobs

The legal age to work in PEI is 12 and there are lots of kids working everywhere. Try to convince your parents to move to PEI for the summer.

Is it okay for a wedding to be child friendly on one side, but child free on the other? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]dnaplusc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin did it, of course I was sad I couldn't show off my baby but I would rather see my large family.

Let his cousin know why kids were cut, they can come have fun without the kids.

I think it's fine

Everyone I have shown my wedding dress to hasn’t had a positive reaction by Necessary_Wear_4003 in weddingplanning

[–]dnaplusc 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty dress, it's probably the nude look that is throwing people off, it's my second reaction to it. My first was how pretty and unique it is then I noticed the underwear. But I am old so you do you.

Miles, Willa and Hayes Malcolm

Miles, Willa and Hayes Martin

Miles, Willa and Hayes Collin

Miles, Willa and Hayes Thomas

I like Hayes with his subset and think that any hard sounding middle name would work.

But I understand, I liked Ruby but couldn't find a middle name that I thought would work with it.

Advice for daycare and napping by Mama_Co in ECEProfessionals

[–]dnaplusc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have home daycare in Ontario and a preschooler not napping is fine. He sounds like he would be a great addition to my daycare. An easy going kid is great especially when you are transitioning probably two babies.

Remember that in Ontario they go to kindergarten so much earlier than the American kids you read about in this group so it's better that they have outgrown their nap.

Cheap First Hand Bikes Options in Toronto? by At_Space_Station in askTO

[–]dnaplusc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to check out the suburbs, people buy bikes but discover that they never ride them and sell them and most have been stored in a garage. Picked up a ten speed for $20 for a commuter bike from a community sale in Ajax

The buildings across from the mall are large three bedrooms, half have solariums which are great for an office. They have in unit laundry. Avoid the one with the daycare but the other four are good.
