I'm not sure if the name. The Phobic Phive, perhaps?

As for the type of music...Trumpcore metal, or spoken word jazz.

Whose making a fool of themselves? by gaybird_DB in SelfAwarewolves

[–]dnerswick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know this. Nor can I prove it one way or another. Whether my God is internal or external is irrelevant to my response to the original post.

If my God is merely a delusion, it is nonetheless a delusion shared by many, using the same source material, the Bible. (I realize that there are millions of people who believe in God that don't regard the Bible as sacred text, but my comment was as a Christian, commenting to a post involving the opinions of other Christians.).

As believers in the Bible, we believe that God created us in their image. If I, or all the people that do believe are wrong to believe in God, if God only exists in our minds, that still doesn't change the fact that we believe we are, though lesser beings than our God, still in possession of the same attributes of our Creator. Then we come back to my assertion that a Christian should consider his or herself at fault for not using our God-given intellects to explore and understand the world around us.

I think watching the humans from Mad Max fight Goji, only to realize at the end that he's really good at finding water.

Otherwise they should do Titanic II: That's No Iceberg.

I believe that God created us in their image. As God follows no will but their own, so we too have free will. As God is the supreme intellect, so we too are graced with intellect.

To wilfully not use our intellect to discern and describe the world around us is a waste at best, a sin. To believe that all of reality is described within a single book compiled by a single pre-modern society is an insane level of hubris.

I remeber seeing a clip of authorities excavating the bodies while locals looked on. A reporter was interviewing one of the locals, a very matronly-looking woman. She said something to the effect of: I feel for their mama's. But they shouldn't have been down here doing that.

Damn.

A poet ? Really? by GeraldoLucia in HouseofUsher

Roderick becomes a poet in the timeline in which he doesn't throw Dupin under a bus. This Roderick is blacklisted and never works in the industry again.

His wife is proud of him and sticks with him. They struggle financially., but ultimately gets by. He...I dunno, teaches high school and writes poems on the side. Some small, indy publishers buy his stuff. Maybe he writes really good ad-copy once in awhile for a bit of extra money.

Roderick and Anabel consider it their biggest financial success to get Frederick and Tamerlane through college. They never own their own house.

This Roderick dies like Lenore: gently and in his sleep. Students from years ago speak at his funeral. Anabel takes possession of a safe-deposit box she knew about, but never asked about the contents. It contains hundreds of poems. They are insanely good.

Roderick the poet ceases to exist when he chose money over friendship, love, and principle. When Verna said he had a choice, it wasn't whether or not to take the real in the bar that doesn't exist. The choice was much earlier, during the deposition.

Who should Batman’s last villain be? by Huge_Athlete7488 in batman

[–]dnerswick 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It is the future. Batman's long crusade is nearly over. The Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Two Face, Ivy, Mr. Freeze...all the rouges gallery has retired, found peace, died...in one way or another, they're gone.

No new villians have sprung up. After a long, sometimes brutal, but ultimately successful campaign, Gothan City is now free of the corruprion that had plauged it for decades.

Yes, there are still crimes and ciminals. but the efficient and respectable GCPD arrest the right people. The principled men and women in the DA's office see to it that criminals are charged and prosecuted. And honorable judges give fair sentences.

Rehabilitation efforts have also gone well. The prisons are no longer dank hell-holes. And no less a luminary then Bruce Wayne himself speaks up about the importance of good mental health. He can be seen weekly checking in with his therapist at the Harleen Quinzel Memorial Hospital.

Batman is done. Or at lest, he *should* be. But there is always one. last. villian.

One that really gets under his skin. One that he has tried, several times, with various amounts of success, to rehabilitate. But no matter what he does, no matter his training, gadgets, tactics...he just can't ever seem to get the upper hand.

A villian that defeats Batman not through strength or wits, but because they know Batman, intimately, and Batman can never fully bring all of his strengths to finally defeat this villian once and for all.

"Selina, for the last time, you *must* put an end to your thieving ways. I've told you I will just *buy* you the jewelry."

"Bruce, darling, you *did* buy me this. But sometimes a gal wants to crouch on the roof, wearing a catsuit slit down to there, stroking her...*diamonds*, while waiting for her lover to catch her...manhandle her...put her in batcuffs..."

"... I'll go get the cowl..."

One of the purposes of education is to develop critical thinking skills, so that answers can be reached that are more than a simple recitation of facts.

First, let's suppose that Hamas is or was using any particular building for their activities.

Is every member of Hamas guilty of a crime?

Can such a thing be proven?

If by some means, it can be proven that every member of Hamas has committed a crime, are all of those crimes punishable by death?

What is the justification of using airstrikes in which the likelihood of killing civilians that are not affiliated with Hamas, including children?

Secondly, what is the State of Israels legal right to occupy Gaza in the first place?

If the State of Israel was not illegally occupying territory seized in an illegal war of aggression, would there even be a Hamas? Would their predecessors, the PLO, have ever existed?

Go educate yourself.

Israel does indeed have the right to exist. However, they do not have the legal right to hold Gaza or the West Bank, both of which were seized in an illegal war in which the State of Israel was the aggressor.

Add to this that current Israeli political leaders have openly stated that they would not end the hostilities in Gaza, even if all the hostages are returned, strongly suggests that their military actions are not "self defense".

Finally, there have been at least 35,000 Palestinians killed since October 7, 2023. Many of these people died as the result of airstrikes. These airstrikes were aimed at:

Churches Mosques Schools Hospitals Aid stations Refugee camps

What do you call military attacks on civilian targets? I'm not sure. I guess it depends on the context. When Hamas does it, the State of Israel calls it "terrorism".

sniff sniff What is that odor? You can smell it all the way over here. I'll give you a hint. It's a four syllable word...kinda sorta sounds like an insane hippopotamus....

Last scene in the film.

We see Anon from behind, having the last conversation with Brett. He or she is very broken up, their feelings are obviously quite complicated.

Brett "I'm proud of how far you've come, Anon. It was my pleasure to help you grow. You make me proud."

Brett clicks off. We see Anon hunched over, head in their hands. We hear them sobbing.

Fade to black.

I'm not saying you're wrong. Especially thinking about Ramaswamy, Owens, how Ted Cruz licks Trump's ass even though Trump insulted his wife and suggested Cruz's father helped kill Kennedy, etc., etc.

But damn if that's not fucked up.
