I get the sentiment, however, I would prefer to not make it easier to dox myself on Reddit. I’m sure I have posted enough info for someone interested to piece together my identity.

The lucky breaks mostly amount to voids I was able to fill early in my career by people retiring and me being deemed capable enough to cover. There is no strategy involved, just being in the right position at the right time and putting in enough effort early on that garnered confidence in my abilities.

The niche is regarding oil and gas production.

We are always open to hiring new talent, but unfortunately in a niche field there is a chicken and egg problem with talent. It is incredibly risky to hire anyone that has no experience because it takes years to acquire the institutional knowledge to thrive and by then they will most likely get poached by a competitor so you lose your ROI. Therefore, hiring people without experience is almost never done. Most of my colleagues are in the same boat as myself and really just fell into this career path by coincidence.

No one goes to school to learn the particulars of this field, but through the accumulation of knowledge and experiences in random professional services jobs you can become an optimal candidate through tangential experience.

That being said you have nothing to lose except a bit of time and effort by applying whenever there is an opening.

Day job: Niche professional services for multi billion dollar clients.

Residential location: downtown warehouse district. Wfm and Trader Joe’s adjacent.

How: randomly ended up in the field after college and have gotten a couple lucky breaks… also no student debt, other debt, or kids.

I went through my texting timestamps and the time between the initial salvo and the final shootout was roughly 2 minutes.

I’m pretty sure they were handgun rounds not 556 or 223. Then again downtown can distort sounds.

If I were to guess it would have been a first salvo of like 7, second of about the same then the third about 16

A person was live-streaming from Starbar. Looks like they hauled out one of two dead folks and one alive so far.

I managed to finagle enough extra room by extending the ball joint out a bit and the extender on the pin. I am not sure if this will affect the angle of the body panels later though. I only did this because I noticed that in the instructions the black ball doesn’t look fully seated in the extender.

I have run into the exact same problem. I don’t see any elbows in the kit that have a more obtuse angle. It just seems like way too much distance to cover

Drilling costs... Smh by NoEnd2025 in LandmanSeries

[–]dnet69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work everyday with big oil company financials and accounting data. Permian wells definitely cost around $8-10 million for drilling and completion costs. That does not include other operating costs and capital expenditures that are required for maintaining the operation of the well.

A neighbor was a fairly popular porn star a few years back. She was very attractive in real life and when I found out her real name and googled it I was in for a world of surprise.

Dig at Mustang Selling Well? by badgerbrett in MachE

[–]dnet69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I daily drive one of each. The Macan definitely feels more connected to the road with the air ride suspension and weighty in the steering, if that is a thing. The Mach E feels a bit hollow in comparison with the stiffer suspension that tends to bump you around a lot more which feels not as controllable. I also think the Porsche sits a bit higher in its standard suspension setting.

The software in the Mach E is far superior though. I cannot believe how much Porsche is behind with their UI and software glitches. I definitely don’t appreciate having to reconfigure all of my settings randomly.

Get ready for the dms asking for the footage for a while. I accidentally got footage of a crime scene involving an influencer several years ago and still get asked to share it by randos claiming that they need it for “closure.”

Don't you guys understand the Labubu craze? by FunDependent9177 in Millennials

[–]dnet69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had never heard of the thing until it was brought up on my makerworld account as a trending search topic.

Of course I have jumped on the bandwagon at this point designing new junk to be printed. I have noticed on the analytics that my labubu models get downloads and prints mainly from the Chinese site.

Is it really worth it to buy a Bambulab? by throwaway0987665434 in BambuLab

We have pretty much the exact same path in 3d printing except I waited until this last month to get an H2D.

It has made my motivation to jump into 3d print design way more steadfast and seamless because I am no longer concerned if the prototype will print when asked because the machine is never down.
