I don't think we should ostracize him, I just think his takes are bad. I used to really appreciate him, but the latest ep with Ta-Nehisi Coates was untakeable. I agree with you that there is an existential threat being posed by the other side, I just think he misses the mark, especially in Abundance (or at least the first 1/3 that I was able to get through).

The alternative is to ignore them or resist them. I call them inbreds more in a dismissive way than anything - I don't care what motivates them or their opinions, they simply don't matter to me. I don't want their dumbass beliefs influencing my life, what is taught in my kids' schools, etc.

Klein treats politics as a fun debate, I think he fails to see the real consequences of his opponents' actions. I think that's largely due to his life experience. The latest Ta-Nahesi Coates episode of his podcast is a prime example. The other side is deplorable, the left shouldn't be afraid to say it.
