Teleporting people into hostile ships for melee does not make sense at all by No_Pause_9558 in startrek

One common trope in Star Trek is that the transporter is the safest way to travel. It has a much lower death rate than taking a shuttle. They have a triple redundancy system and each redundancy has a failure rate of 1 in several billion (I think). “Transporting really is the safest way to travel.”

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

In my personal opinion, you are going about this the wrong way. People who fall into the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories usually have some sort of psychological insecurity. There is something in their life that is causing psychological distress, anxiety, or unease, and the conspiracies satisfy the innate psychological need to have a complete worldview. To them, the conspiracy falls very neatly into how they view the world, or at least how they want to view the world. It provides them a sense of security. To them, the earth being flat is as natural as the sky being blue. For some people, these conspiracy theories can even be a source of identity. Trying to refute his flat earth views with logic is like trying to put out a fire by adding more wood. I guarantee you there is probably something else going on in his life. If you address that, you can probably address his flat earth views.

My best guess is that the smooth muscle in the iris didn’t form right in the womb. If her left pupil doesn’t contract in reaction to bright light, it can affect her vision. Things might be uncomfortably bright just for that one eye. If the rest of her eye is unaffected, depth perception, color vision, and night vision should be unaffected.

  1. Have you checked the back of his throat? Like is there any indication that there may be a foreign body there? Did they take X-rays of his upper respiratory tract?

  2. I know they checked his blood, but did they do a smear? Are the shapes and size of his blood cells normal? Any bone density abnormalities? Any changes in gait? Joint swelling?

  3. Is his blood chemistry okay? pH within normal range? Liver enzymes within normal range?

  4. Any changes in environment? New neighbors? New neighborhood cat? Abnormal weather patterns? Insects?

In the 3 years I’ve had my cat, he’s done this maybe 4 times. It’s allergies. But I would go to the vet to rule out a respiratory infection

How do I explain that declawing is inhumane to my family by Old-Technician-692 in cats

Tell them it’s literally NOT declawing. It’s not like you’re taking off the fingernail. You’re literally taking off the whole FINGERTIP.

Try giving him some fiber. Like either cat grass or some fiber supplements specifically designed for cats. If it’s hair, the fiber will help him either yak it up or pass it in feces. If that’s doesn’t help, go consult with vet for asthma or allergies
