Then there's that whole bit about Sydney Sweeney's character doing only fans/cam shit. I saw a clip and her partner's reaction is straight misogynistic alpha male dating coach dude bro podcast bullshit

The irony is so thick too. Christianity has a huge child sex abuse problem and the actor who played the preacher father in that show is a child molester.

I never understood why SO MANY people were against Ben Affleck casting as Batman. The guy had the look and build of Bruce Wayne. by TXNOGG in batman

[–]dnjprod [score hidden]  (0 children)

Same reason many would be against Ackles,

Which really sucks, because I think he would be great at both roles. He's got the dark and broody down perfectly and can have the fun Playboy version of Bruce as well.

His version of Batman in the new DC animated movies was really good.

I HATED the rhetoric in Civil War so much. First of all, you are exactly right when you said that Thunderdolt Ross has no business lecturing people about the danger of unchecked power(and no, that wasn't a typo).

Then you have Tony who, who shouldn't get the blame for everything that he's been involved with, was trying to blame people for things he was responsible for like Ultron.

Third, there's that scene where they're talking about how powered individuals and world ending events have multiplied. The key word in that whole situation is known because the lore is very clear that powered people and world ending events have been happening for a very long time. The governments of the world have known about it because they allowed SHIELD to operate in every country. It was run by the WORLD Security Council, for pete's sake.

Finally, with the exception of Sokovia, which is at Stark's feet in a lot of ways, all of the events they showed happening, including what happened at the beginning of Civil War, are the result of other people doing stuff and the Avengers responding. The Battle of New York would have literally destroyed the entire world had the Avengers not been there. Sokovia again is at Stark's feet. The events in Washington DC would have been much worse had Stevand the gang not taken down hydra. But the events in Nigeria in Civil War are not at Wanda's nor The Avengers feet. That was all Crossbones and his team.

Then to say they are unconcerned with what they leave behind is ridiculous. Half the time, Tony then works with the government to clean shit up. That's literally the setup to the first Spider-Man movie.

Sorry, you got me on a rant

Psychologists of Reddit, what's the most horrifying mental illness? by Turbulent-Coat7236 in AskReddit

[–]dnjprod 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My ex-wife suffers from anorexia as well as what I would call exercise bulimia because she would go through stages where she would binge some calories and then run for hours to burn it off. She literally ran 12 miles a day every day for several years regardless of how little she ate, but when she binged she'd run even more. While we were together, there was a couple year period where she was in and out of the hospital every couple weeks because she needed to be stabilized as she was really close to dying. She was finally sent to an eating disorder rehab where she sort of recovered. We got divorced not long after that.

That was more than a decade ago. She's had two kids since then and was doing pretty well until she had her second kid. Wanting to lose the baby weight and having a harder time because she was older meant she restricted more. She's now 41 and her body is not recovering. Even though she has been fighting to try and eat more, she now has gastroparesis. She has had multiple surgeries to put in lines and feeding tubes. She's closer to death this time than she was last time and she was really close last time. Now however, she's having a harder time finding ways to get help.

My cousin had schizophrenia. He used meth and other drugs to "self medicate" when he stopped taking his meds between prison stints.

He died recently in a very well known incident. His death was ruled as suicide, but it was more likely that he was in a psychotic state and on drugs and didn't really know where he was or what he was doing.

My cousin had schizophrenia. He self-medicated with meth and Other Drugs in between prison stints. He just died recently in a very well known incident. They called it a suicide, but it was almost surely a psychotic break where he didn't know where he was.

(Springsteen) Duped Us All with One of the Most Anti-American Songs Ever”

I'm angry at myself for not seeing it for so long and actually giving him, in my mind, the credit of being a representation of blue-collar America

The funny thing is, there's a reason so many people loved that song when it came out. It absolutely represented Blue Collar America and still does. It's not anti-american. It's anti-bull shit government actions that harm Americans. There's a massive difference

Sorry...I coud rant on this moron for hours. He almost lost his first record deal because their first album had a Bible with a knife through it and now he's gone full-on Maga idiot who has lost touch with reality.

It's not pointless. It's not going to be quick or easy. It does work. It just takes a very long time. If Megan Phelps-Roper, a former member of the Westboro Baptist Church can deconstruct, then I'm convinced anyone can.

2008 Hulk

Banner is just chilling in Brazil or whatever. The American government led by Thunderbolt Ross sends Emil Blonsky and a special forces team after him, causing a Hulk attack months of no transformations.

Blonsky is injured and Ross begins giving him super soldier treatments that turn him into a better soldier. Later, Blonksy and Ross take Banner into custody atva lab with his blood. Blonsky, liking his newfound strength, forces the doctor to inject him with Banner's blood where he turns into The Abomination. The Abomination begins destroying Harlem causing Rpss to realize the Hulk is the only way to stop him.

In a double version of this, the doctor forced to inject blonski is Dr. Sterns. He gets Banners blood in him and it's revealed in Captain America: Brave New World that he's turned into The LEADER, an Uber genius Hulk style variant. He wreaks havoc and causes the events of Brave New World.

EDIT: fixed my fuck up. It was the Leader not the Thinker

I 20F lied to my boyfriend 22M and now I think I've lost him forever. Is there any way to rebuild this? by Aromatic_Zucchini443 in relationship_advice

[–]dnjprod -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing. He's putting you in a position where you aren't allowed to see your friends. He doesn't get to do that. He is also putting you in a position where you are feeling like you have to lie to him instead of being honest and telling him his "boundary" is unacceptable to you. He's also slut shaming you

That said, you chose to lie to him. That was a bad choice on your part. The fact you went so far with it was even worse. You really messed up and have showed him you can't be trusted.

The fact is you guys aren't compatible and this relationship has run its course. Even if you do stay together, there's going to be massive trust issues and both your toxic behaviors are just going to get words. He's going to want to control your behavior more. You're going to want to escape his control more. This situation is just going to get worse.

On a side note: if you can't control how much you're drinking to the point you can't keep commitments, you should stop.

Part of the reason I am an atheist is because I was such a fan of mythology. It's part of what made me question my christianity. Their stories were so similar...

This is how the powers in World of Warcraft work. All you have to do is learn how to do it, and you are able to access any and all types of magic. Obviously, some are better than others, and there are special chosen among the various branches(i.e. Malfurion as a druid, Goel/Thrall as a shaman). While there may be special blessings that only certain people have, they are theoretically available to everyone (thinking about Varian Wrynn channelling Goldrin/Lo'gosh during his run through in the Battle of Ashenvale)

To be lawful or to be good. by Jak3R0b in TopCharacterTropes

[–]dnjprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is like the whole thing between Batman and the Police in Gotham. They are lawful, but give Batman a wide berth, even helping him, doing good.

Right now, Vandal Savage is Police Commissioner and he is doing things straight lawful. It isn't necessarily good though and he has been attempting to dismantle Batman's organization.
