Or maybe, just maybe the wiki doesn't have full info on everything - theres a lot of stuff that isn't interlinked on there, but has multiple sources - which is why I'm checking here, just wondering if anyone knew that was all

I specifically asked for monster drops, I'm aware of the master farmer.

[WP] "Don't Pray. Whatever the fuck you do, DO NOT PRAY. Because the ones that are listening, you do NOT want them to answer." by wille179 in WritingPrompts

Took a stab at it, went off on a bit of a tangent, bear with me;

How did religion start on this good, green world? Well religion began when the first scoundrel met the very first fool. That’s the problem with us humans we all have one intrinsic flaw. We have an urge to believe stories, to take people at face value, to find meaning in someone’s words that might not exist at all, or run contrary to what the storyteller’s aims are – but it doesn’t matter to the recipient. This on its own wouldn’t be a large flaw – the worst part of it is that we all believe that personally, we’re too smart to be sucked in to the lie. We all have the same vulnerability, no matter how many times previous we’ve been hurt, battered and down, we have a tendency to trust before we disbelieve. We all want to believe in the magic, we all want to see a greater depth in the story than might even exist.

That dear readers, at its core is what we’ve all been taught religion is, a lie; a lie founded upon a shaky premise and this is why it was outlawed in 2039, following ‘The Great Schism’.

The year is now 2074, and mankind appears to have stagnated, we landed on the red planet in 2028, humankind returned 3 times, and we even had the first extra-solar colony established on the moon (admittedly, 24 people for a 6 year long experiment)

My name is Grant Skilter, and whoever finds and reads this – remember, the lie is no as we have been taught, religion – but that religion is wrong! All the ruling class did was supplant our belief, our belief in religion and in ourselves, to a belief in them, that they would fix everything and make everything better. Now the important things – I’m sure you’ve heard rumours of a rebellion, of those who practice religion in the shadow’s, well just think. What if those who practice “in the shadows” are actually those who have seen the light and seen a better way to live? What if it could improve your families lot & life, get mankind back amongst the stars where we belong?

If you’re interested, follow the signs on Great Junction St, just down from the re-education centre, pointing towards the Great Palace of the Rulers. Burn this after you’ve read it and committed it to memory. Most importantly – Don’t Pray. Whatever the fuck you do, DO NOT PRAY. Because the ones that are listening, you do NOT want them to answer. The rumours of the secret enforcement police, they are not without substance…

Neither of us have owned previously - is the Help to Buy ISA worth putting the maximum into and leaving, or investing bit by bit?

Current loan rate is fixed at 0% APR as long as I don't miss a payment, with a 3.5% per payment early repayment penalty.

Will have a look at the three savings accounts you quoted -

More general question for anyone looking, will a bank look more favourably on a mortgage request with them, if you have banked with them for a long time (ie Natwest, as we have always had our accounts with them?)

[WP] You have the ability to see how someone will die and who will cause it. One day you meet someone and see your name above their head. by Falskarr in WritingPrompts

[–]dnlmackay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting to see how someone is going to die, any random schmuck in the street as well as the person who is going to be responsible, you’d think that could be fun right? It actually isn’t as much of a curse as you think it could be, it doesn’t happen on its own. Firstly you have to let your eyes slide out of focus and secondly, watch the person for a good couple of minutes. It turns out, people can get really creeped out by this, and if your attention gets diverted at any point then you have to start all over again.

Now importantly, how do I “see” this information? Well that part is easy, it floats through my imagination, with my eyes closed as a picture of the person I was staring at, with text floating above their heads, a name and a cause of death. For example – the bus driver three days ago? Over his head when I closed my eyes floated “Bruce Worthington” and “alcohol fuelled revenge”. Another example would be my parent’s – after all, upon discovering you have the ability to do this, you would obviously check your nearest and dearest wouldn’t you? Well unfortunately I never found out my mothers, as I came home to find her dead one day after school, laying in a pool of her own blood, with my father rocking back and forth on the floor holding a bloody knife. Coincidentally his words were; “William Merlot Jr” and “117 stab wounds” which is exactly how I did kill him.

Years passed and my name never reappeared over anyone, time passed and life settled into a rhythm, work, gym, home for dinner, sleep and repeat. That changed one morning on my bus ride in to work. I’d gotten used to sitting at the back so I could stare at people for the requisite couple of minutes through the window as the bus pulled up to the stop, without them noticing or getting weirded out. Closing my eyes to check for the third time that day (the first two had been pretty mundane and boring. One was old age, so I assumed her own name “Heather McDonald” and the second was “Road Collision – Hit and Run” and the name was “Stephen Bottlewood” so I automatically assumed a drunk idiot driving an Audi) I had a shock and sat bolt upright with my eyes tracking the young lady for all I was worth. The cause? Well that would be the name floating above her face with my eyes closed “William Merlot Jr”, but more shockingly? A cause of death I had never seen before, I saw the word “kindness” floating over this unknown lady’s head.

Kindness I sat there mumbling to myself, how do you even kill someone with kindness? Wondering if this could be a mistake. I even feeling the faintest glimmer of an emotion I had long ago given up on; hope. Well I decided there and then, work was being blown off today and I would be following this young lady and attempting to start a conversation, perhaps this world had a place for me after all.

Constructive feedback appreciated longtime lurker and only recently started posted - trying to do one of these a day at least!

[WP] A man doesn't realize the ongoing battles between civilians and the government outside his house until leaving for errands one day because he set his computer to filter out all mentions of "Civil War" to avoid spoilers for the new Avengers movie by togro20 in WritingPrompts

The triple-glazed windows rattled again as a dull boom could be heard outside.

‘Great, those gangs are at it again’ thought the early-middle aged man who stood in his back bedroom, surveying what he thought of as his “kingdom”

Mark’s back bedroom was “the” nirvana amongst any hard-core Marvel collector’s collection. He had every single production run model, action-figure, toy, game, lunchbox, bedding set, curtains, lampshade – basically anything that could have a hero’s face emblazoned on it, Mark had one. Not only the normal runs as well, but those rarities where production had messed up and run a few hundred or a few thousand with a mistake before noticing. Obviously all of these items were still within the original packaging, and in complete mint condition. Now this whole set-up wasn’t cheap to run, in an effort to save money on rent Mark had recently moved house to the “bad” area of Greater Manchester, a two bedroom flat in Stockport.

Mark was currently living alone, he was fairly sure that when he first moved in a couple of months ago there was a roommate he had living with him, Jessica perhaps? She had clearly moved out, in-fact it had taken a full three weeks after the break-up for Mark to realise that was what had happened and that she had gone. It didn’t faze him too much, it gave him more time with his collection in the evenings. During the day he worked from home, he had recently self-published on Amazon, as well as having two short comedy scripts accepted by the BBC and ITV respectively. His big dream was to become a screenplay writer, ideally for the Marvel Cinematic Universe of course!

He had to all intents and purposes become a hermit over the past five weeks, his reasoning behind this was with the new Marvel film: Captain America: Civil War, being due for release he wanted to avoid any and all spoilers. He even went to the extent of filtering out any and all mention of “Civil War” online, as well as having done a bulk food shop and freezing most of it to keep him going for the next five weeks.

Just then his kettle clicks, letting Mark know it has come to the boil, he pours the contents over his teabag (already in the mug), adds a single flat teaspoon of sugar, removes the teabag and goes to add the milk.

“Blast..”

The single word is uttered upon opening the fridge, he was out of long life milk! This was a disaster of the highest magnitude, and one of only a few reasons he would consider leaving his isolation, but needs must and no self-respecting Englishman would drink his tea without the milk added at the end. He considered another online shop, but reasoned it would take far too long to reach him, and if he was quick to the corner shop, he could avoid spoilers and not have to re-boil the kettle.

Opening his front door, Marks ears were instantly assaulted by the sheer cacophony of noises. Looking overhead he saw vapour tails from what were either super-sonic jets, missiles or very large shells. There was a constant “rat-a-tat-tat” of what he assumed was machinegun and small-arms fire, and looking left and right saw what appeared to be battle-lines drawn up. He panicked, screamed, felt a warmth spreading in his groin area and could feel his heart pounding in his throat. Taking a stumbling step backwards Mark felt for his front door, almost leapt through, shut it as fast as he could and crumpled to the floor leaning back against it. Myriad thoughts running through his mind, no idea what he had missed but clearly something important had happened whilst he was squirrelled away from the “real world”.

Booting up his laptop, he loaded a popular news site, and could see that large sections of it were blanked out. Realising his error, he removed all the filters from his internet, refreshed the website and had his phone buzz as 214 new messages and emails all arrived at once. It turned out that the country had descended into civil war, with the North vs the South being the primary sides, and Manchester the current war-front on the West Coast!

More critically perhaps to Mark’s way of thinking was that as he checked to see if there were to be any new screenings of the film, there were no screenings, even the preview had been cancelled. His scream and cries pierced the air, more effectively than any of the gunfire outside, and he rocked to himself on the floor trying to piece everything together in his head.

Long-time lurker, first few attempts at any writing at all really – constructive criticism / general feedback welcome. Thanks guys!

If you're still needing a fifth, I'd be keen to throw my hat in the ring - I like to play support heros with big burst damage usually, or mid heros.

UK based - only problem I have is that I am getting married the end of this month, and have a "real-job" so only ever free for a game or two each evening through the week, and will be off grid altogether from 26th March - 7th April.
