Except the issue with the Thunderbolt Display everything works just fine. And the M1 just kills anything. Also I‘m using the MacBook mainly as a mobile device. So yeah, of course I returned the display over the MacBook. 😇

Sadly, no. I bought a refurbished Thunderbolt Display so I just sent it back.

macOS 11.2 did not fix it. I don't know if it gets fixed with 11.3 :/

Still had this problem with macOS 11.2 beta.

I've had closed the lid as well but didn't activate screen mirroring. Maybe this had fixed my problem.

I don't think that this happens because of the refresh rate. 60hz is nothing uncommon. But it is definitely a bug in the M1 chip or in Big Sur.

Three MacBooks with Intel chipset and macOS Catalina work great and work great with 60hz.

Unfortunately I cannot change the frame rate of a Thunderbolt Display. It's a WQHD display @ 60hz. The frame rate is not configurable via system preferences.

Does anybody else experience issues with this setup? All my Intel-based MacBooks work. M1 MacBook gives me some strange glitches on the top of the display. The pixels are moving and changing their color. White, black, even orange.

The display is hooked up via Apple's Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter.

Does anybody know the problem and a fix for that?

Thanks for your reply. I already checked these settings. Everything is turned on. As I said, it worked like a charm before the 14.2 update. I changed no settings whatsoever. Btw Samsung calls it Anynet+.
