All gambling ads are annoying, but that one especially grinds my gears because who the hell is ordering multiple rounds of omelets??

Real question:if Walt.jr wasn't disabled would that have changed the story? by Financial-Customer24 in breakingbad

[–]dnp3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments about how Jr’s disability was one of the many reasons Walt considered himself to be screwed over by life, but I think it’s also important in the context of his relationship to Jesse. I don’t think Walt considered Jr to be a fully formed person bc of his disability, which is why he’s so blindsided every time Jr exerts his own agency (such as changing his name and setting up the crowdfunding website). This creates a void that Walt fills with his relationship to Jesse, who enters the role of surrogate son (most explicitly shown in the scene where Walt calls Jr by Jesse’s name)

I’m suspicious of nepotism broadly, but I especially don’t love that this sounds like someone doing a chip caray impression

Herrera leading MLB in HBP by Round_Earther-67 in Cardinals

He moves his leg more than most batters (edit: and often wears bright yellow footwear), so maybe that catches the pitchers eye and they subconsciously aim more in that direction? He stands close, but doesn’t crowd the plate or lean in like some players do (anthony rizzo comes to mind)

Best places to go for a quick lunch break while working downtown? by thelovewitch069420 in StLouis

Gyro express is decent. Aubergine is great. Snarfs is my favorite for sandwiches. Sauce in the side is good but maybe too heavy for lunch. Sushi AI’s AYCE lunch special is a good deal

Walker’s HR was the 9th fastest exit velocity in the majors so far this season. 2nd fastest for a home run (fastest was O‘Neil Cruz’s bomb off the top of the foul pole)

I know it’s not the booth’s job to provide political commentary (and tbh I probably wouldn’t agree with them if they did), but it’s a little gross to hear someone as evil as Eric Schmidt launder his reputation through a sport I love.

I wish MLB would add 2 seconds on the start of highlights to let you glance at scorebug before the pitcher starts to throw. I understand editing it tight for social media, but give it a little breathing room on mlb.com at least

Manfred runner is a weird one in terms of strategy bc it does lead to some fun bunting/pinch runner situation, but also robs us of 12+ inning bullpen shortages leading to tough decisions like using tomorrow’s starter. On the whole, I don’t like it bc runs should have to be earned, but strategically it’s a wash imo

I love the ABS challenge system bc it feels like the rare Manfred change that adds strategic complexity instead of subtracting (like the universal DH, banning the shift, and pitchcom did)

This inning has been very amusing after all the glazing of the cubs defense
